_nrb_ | I got my protected battery boards yesterday and I noticed the connector is a few millimeters closer to the edge of the board than on the original version. Causes the cables to bend a bit arkwardly... | 11:01 |

mlarkin | i cracked/snapped the plastic cover on the left side (power jack, ethernet, sdcard area). Is there a 3d printer .stl file for this cover, and/or can I order a replacement? | 19:33 |
mlarkin | seems to be about 1mm thick which should be easy to make on the 3d printer | 19:33 |
bkeys | mlarkin: It'd be easy to 3D print; on the Reform store you can get ones made out of metal, which is what I have | 19:36 |
mlarkin | metal might be nicer, will order that but if there is a .stl file I could print a temporary one, would be nice. otherwise I can just leave it off or try and glue the old one back together. | 19:37 |
mlarkin | thx | 19:37 |
bkeys | https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform/-/tree/master/reform2-case-ports | 19:38 |
mlarkin | perfect thanks | 19:38 |
bkeys | Here is the source files, you should be able to export STL files from the FreeCAD files | 19:38 |
bkeys | No problem | 19:38 |
mlarkin | yep | 19:38 |
mlarkin | should be no issue with those | 19:39 |
mlarkin | still gonna order the metal ones | 19:39 |
bkeys | Yeah that is what I would recommend. I had to send mine to Germany to get them repaired and I just had them ship it back with metal sides | 19:41 |
bkeys | I think shipping just the 1 thing might not justify the shipping costs | 19:41 |
mlarkin | ah maybe. | 19:41 |
bkeys | There is a guy on community.mnt.re who was doing a mass buy of the protected battery boards to save people on shipping; maybe he hasn't placed the order yet | 19:42 |
mlarkin | ah. heh . you're right. 40 euro shipping on a 15 euro part :) | 19:42 |
mlarkin | guess it's gonna be plastic until I need something else from the store | 19:42 |
bkeys | Yeah I will probably post on the community once the cm4 adapter comes out and I will try to do a mass buy for people | 19:44 |
mlarkin | printing now. thanks | 19:44 |
mlarkin | although I just realized its going to come out as blue silk PLA | 19:45 |
mlarkin | suppose that will look cool | 19:45 |
bkeys | I wish my printers worked | 19:45 |
bkeys | You can message me your email/contact info and I can reach out when the cm4 adapter drops if you lkike | 19:45 |
bkeys | minute: So it looked like the HDMI adapter for cm4 came in? Or was that something else? | 19:48 |
minute | bkeys: yes, and it doesn't work. at all | 20:10 |
bkeys | So what are the next steps (if any)? | 20:10 |
minute | i wrote kinetic technologies and asked for more documentation and the "gprobe" software | 20:11 |

Boostisbetter | so it is late at night here in Germany and I'm messing around with my Reform. I am wondering if the Reform has reached a point where it is safe to update? I have done it 3 times now, and things seem to be going well. I do have to disable wi-fi and re-enable it get the wifi connection to pick up again, but other than that, everything is working well. | 23:33 |
Boostisbetter | and suspend and resume. | 23:33 |
Boostisbetter | But I'm kind of on a frankenstein like setup right now, and I'm curious if the official image is there now? | 23:33 |
Boostisbetter | If so do you think it would be worth it for me to scrubb everything and start over with the image? | 23:34 |
- vagrantc (QUIT: Quit: leaving) (~vagrant@2600:3c01:e000:21:7:77:0:20) | 23:37 | |
bkeys | Boostisbetter: I would rather have EFI so booting any out of the box distro easily | 23:46 |
bkeys | Then all we'd need are custom packages for the kernel and not an entire image | 23:46 |
