minuteok, all hacks replaced... tomorrow will take care of more tlv320aic3100 alsa ucm files01:54
+ LNSY (~LNSY@98.147.157.153)01:54
minuteLNSY: fyi because i wasn't around last time before you went offline, the new block system i have in place times out each blocked ip after 1 hour, so there is no manual unblocking required anymore01:55
LNSYthanks!01:56
LNSYSo, I tried installing a Quectel EM06-A LTE modem, and in the process upgraded my firmware to 20260819. Now I'm getting random shutdowns. What information would you need to help diagnose this?01:57
LNSYI installed the v2 power supply a few weeks ago, and it's been pretty solid.01:57
minuteLNSY: hmm, i have the suspicion it might be the power delivery code in that firmware which for some people (in the forum) made the power supplies change between charging and not charging frequently01:59
minuteLNSY: there are several ways to confirm this, one is "sudo tio /dev/ttyACM0" and see if there's frequent output related to PD (power delivery)02:00
minuteLNSY: the other is indirectly via "sudo journalctl -f reform-power-daemon" to see if it often changes between "high" and "low" power state02:00
minutei still need to get/find a power supply model where that happens so i can reproduce + fix it02:01
minuteLNSY: but also... is the problem when connected to a power supply or on battery?02:01
LNSYminute both, it seems.02:01
minutehmm, another thing i've seen sometimes is that due to transmission errors from the SC or a mntsc driver bug (still on TODO list) the system could think there's a "0%" battery level and do an automatic powerdown02:03
minuteLNSY: when the shutdown happens, is that a clean shutdown or looks more like a brownout with the display "dying" etc?02:03
LNSYAn interesting hint: it seems chargers that used to work don't work (my thinkpad powersupply no longer charges but my Macintosh one does)02:04
LNSYand the different chargers work02:04
LNSYIt's a clean shutdown, with the terminal output02:04
minuteoh, thinkpad supply doesn't charge? good to know02:05
minuteLNSY: ok, clean shutdown then points strongly towards battery percentage being misread and the system doing emergency shutdown because it thinks the battery is empty02:05
minutei'm putting in my todo list to port a fix i recently did for the reform next fw over to pocket reform02:06
LNSYAnd some old behavior where if I try to access the NVME Drive it triggers a clean shutdown, also02:06
minutehmm that's odd02:07
LNSYYeah, that started happening right after the 20260808 firmware, and it went away for a bit. I only recently updated the firmware again, as I said02:08

LNSYAlso, I ran tio and it is pretty solid until I unplug and replug in the power supply, then it starts cycling on and off02:14
minuteLNSY: does it stop cycling after a while or just keeps going?02:17
minuteLNSY: and which power supply is that?02:17
minute(model)02:17
LNSYApple Power supply02:17
LNSYI just keeps going02:17
- jjbliss (QUIT: Remote host closed the connection) (jjbliss@infinity.garden)02:18
minuteLNSY: ok, try typing in the tio: (pdsink 1)02:18
minuteLNSY: and then reconnect the power supply02:18
