minutelidstah: absolutely ok to bump!10:16
josch+110:48
lidstahloon: sorry for the late answer, went to sleep before your question xD. For Dominions 6, it's box64 (the game is linux native). I've not yet tested fex.10:56
lidstahruns really well except a small bug during battles replays: if your mouse pointer "touch" the terrain, a wireframe of the terrain appears (just let the mouse near the sky and no problem, only a bit ugly when you want to see a specific's unit statistic (for e.g a fully equiped hero who just lost a limb...)10:58
lidstahminute: thanks for the confirmation :) - and hello!10:59
lidstahI've got a small question too, do I edit my older post, or do I just add the new games in a new post?11:01

lidstahfun fact, I no longer have the small wireframe "bug" with dominions 6... mmmh12:37
lidstahneed more test this afternoon then I'll update my post to add Rogue Empire, RoadWarden (really nice game), OpenArena, Assaultcube, UnrealWorld and Dominions 6 :) - that's 67 games now (added some old school fps games). Tried Quetoo but it was a slide show sadly (but predictable)12:40
lidstah(and I wasn't really fond of the ".claude" folder in the git repo)12:40
lidstah(and thanks josch , and hi too! The wiki option is indeed interesting, so that other people can edit/correct/add stuff in the list, I need to check the discourse doc' about it tho, in order to not make mistakes)12:43

loonlistentolist, ah, being linux native does make it significantly easier :) which system and module are you exploring this on? chip benchmarks are nice, but real-world tests are much more valuable :)18:11

minutedid anyone of you send me/us a package from france with snail mail/post? i'm not very motivated to travel to a random shop to pick up unknown things20:54
+ Ar|stote|is (~linx@149.210.3.59)20:55
lidstahloon: sorry for the late answer, was out with my partner and my son to look at the solar eclipse (with protection glasses 8)). setup is an MNT Reform 2, RK3588, 16GB RAM. box64 used to translate x86-64 instructions to ARM aarch64 ones. OS is Debian Sid. Game installed from Steam (arm) but manually launched. Game runs at 60FPS in Low details with 4x AA (low details meaning seeing less far, not21:12
lidstahreally important in this game). No more "wireframe" bug since today, might be due to the fact I dont use MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=4.2 MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=420 trick by default (but used it yesterday to test something else before installing Dominions 6, launched from the same shell)21:12
lidstahminute: not me, although I do plan to send you and the mnt team some local products for end of year (but I'll ask/tell you before)21:14
lidstah(e.g won't send you wine if you don't drink alcohol and such)21:15
minutelidstah: thanks :D indeed it's not super easy with me as i don't drink alcohol and am vegan (yikes!)21:22

lidstahminute: aha no worries, I do have friends who are vegans and/or don't drink alcohol, and we have plenty of grapevine juice/apple juice from local producers or vegan products like "fauxmage" ("false cheese" but a wordplay with "fromage" (cheese))21:28
amospallaRegarding bareboot, if I had mĂșltiple debian installations on more than one partition, how does bareboot detect them? All should share the same volume where /boot resides, or would bareboot detect multiple /boot volumes?21:45
amospallaoh, I mean barebox hehe21:47
minuteamospalla: it scans all of them22:03
minuteamospalla: not sure about the prioritization, but in the boot menu you'll get a list of everything found22:03
amospallathank you, I guess I can create as many /boot as I want (barebox says it must be of type 0xea).22:09
minutehmm i wasn't aware it needs to be of any kind22:16
loonlidstah: no worries about response times, there is life outside of irc :) I hope you had a great time watching the eclipse! your setup software-wise is basically what I'd expect, and gives me hope for recent 2D indies working well (i.e. the sort of thing I play)22:18
joschminute: i think i got to the bottom of the a311d panfrost afbc issue. The problem was that the flicker is back even though we've had this problem before and disabled afbc in the meson kernel driver.23:03
joschto recap, the problem last year was introduced by this commit in mesa: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/commit/e0f48568c7f2a638213dee317fde03c23775556f23:03
joschand it was worked around by this commit in reform-debian-packages: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-debian-packages/-/commit/e54c9433a50af9d1a83b6c9dee1351a2c94aeffe23:03
joschi bisected mesa to find the new commit that breaks things and it's this one:23:04
joschhttps://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/commit/f76e940fb2fb316e0f22b6b43be9f8ec70007a5923:04
joschminute: maybe the kernel patch must be updated to also disable 16x16 support?23:04
lidstahloon: have a look at the reform gaming thread on community: https://community.mnt.re/t/mnt-reform-gaming-thread/608/114 and here, I maintain a list of games: https://arkham.lidstah.info/reform-games.html (which I intend to copy back from time to time to the gaming thread on discourse)23:06
lidstahthere's a lot of roguelikes/CRPGs/4X games in my list because I'm fond of turn based games, but there's some others like Fez (great platformer with a twist), for e.g23:08
