Svponce again at odds with the hdmi-edp bridge for rcm4, rpi bootloader shows hotplug detect ok but edid=none, want to give a shot at reprogramming the fw, do i need to have it running in the reform or am i to bring my own +5/+3v3 from home11:31
Svpalternatively i could also give up and use the ch341a clip but im leaving that as a last resort11:37
Svpah ok i got it my usb extension cord was not being cooperative, now it seems to react properly to commands.11:42
Svphm, still no signs of life though. now thats very annoying.11:52

minutestephano: ah damn. thanks for checking. i thought we had at least one direct connection (but i didn't have the schematic open yesterday)13:35
minuteSvp: the hdmi edp chip was normally just plug and play... maybe sth broke?13:36
minuteSvp: there are debug uart pins on the bridge btw13:36
Svpyeah that's what i was trying to do earlier, i did manage to flash it again but no dice it seems...13:40

Svpstarting to think either the panel or the panel cable might have part of the blame because i cant get anything on i.mx either now15:05
Svpi set up the whole concoction on my mbv1 and the raspi bootloader now says edid ok...? whats going on here...15:15

stephanominute: No worries. I got excited briefly before I saw that latch. Might have been worth testing and a fun workaround.18:06

Svpi moved the imx back onto the v1 mb for a test and to my surprise it just works. this is... pretty bad. it essentially places the blame to the v3 mb19:24
Svpwait. fb15 looks smoked. how did it get smoked.19:29
Svpalright, now the backlight comes on but still no video...19:42
Svpi uh, suppose something mightve happened to the dsi-edp bridge, lacking other possible failure points between the module output (good), the ribbon (good) and the display connection (good)19:50
spewthe newer reform classics are the dsi variant, correct?20:08
Svpyeah i think i'm going to give up, im not a fan of messing with SMD components and the hdmi bridge still reports no edid in mbv3 but reports ok in mbv120:31
