gordon1so i noticed discrepancy between what devfreq driver on rk3588 advertises as available_frequencies and what frequencies it can actually set: available frequencies are 300000000 400000000 500000000 600000000 700000000 800000000 900000000 1000000000 but actual freqs are 300000000 396000000 500000000 594000000 786431998 and 850000000, this is the cause of messages "Couldn't update frequency11:58
gordon1transition information.", not sure what's going on there yet11:58
gordon1and it happens with another device on rk3588 and vanilla mainline linux so it has likely nothing to do with reform patches 12:14

andreas-eHello! At some point in time josch has offered to help me with the update from Debian bookworm to trixie. But maybe someone else can give advice as well, and (famous last words?) it cannot be that difficult!22:05
vagrantcACTION waves22:05
andreas-eI do have an /etc/apt/sources.list with Debian entries that it would be easy to update; and then /etc/apt/sources.list.d with a file called "reform_bookworm.sources". How do I update this?22:06
andreas-eHello, vagrant!22:06
- mark_ (QUIT: Ping timeout: 252 seconds) (~mjw@178.230.152.54)22:06
vagrantchmmm... i had installed with a custom-made image so not sure if there are any surprises waiting for you ... but generally just updating all the /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/* files and running: apt update && apt upgrade && apt full-upgrade ... should get you there.22:08
andreas-eMaybe I should read the doc? https://reform.debian.net/repo/ looks like it explains the process!22:08
vagrantcmostly been running guix lately, myself :)22:08
vagrantcheh.22:08
vagrantcthose reform.debian.net people are pretty good. :)22:08
andreas-eUsing Guix is of course much better :)  Real wizardry.22:09
vagrantcor perhaps mad science-fantasist22:10
vagrantci actually have a dual-boot setup but i botched my /boot partition on Debian and haven't bothered to fix it in some months...22:11
andreas-eI just came across the concept of "cyberdecks" (probably years after the fashinonable people). This seems to have been a design inspiration for the Pocket Reform.22:12
andreas-eI consider doing more on the (classic) Reform, which might require the HDMI output. So maybe Debian is a safer bet.22:12
vagrantci have successfully used HDMI out on guix, but with the rk3588 module ... you're still using the imx8mq module?22:13

joschwhat does "apt-cache policy" tell you?23:02
andreas-eHello Josch! I have followed "Method B" on the documentation page and replaced reform_bookworm.sources by reform_trixie_sources. So far everything looks good, I am in the "apt full-upgrade" step.23:04

joschif you cannot find it, you will find it in /var/log/apt/term.log23:14

andreas-eI will just keep my fingers crossed and keep you updated if I am able to reboot...23:17
