reform20457Hello, quick question. has anyone tried using LiFePO4 cells with 3500 mAh capacity with the reform laptop?04:01
reform20457the three recommended ones are all much lower capacity. i'd like to increase the battery life and 3500 mAh cells would give about 50% more than the ones the laptop shipped with04:02
vagrantcin an 18650 form factor?04:02
reform20457yes04:02
vagrantcthat seems like a huge leap in capacity04:02
vagrantci would be skeptical that those are legit04:03
vagrantci've seen them gradually increase in capacity from 1.8ah to 2.0ah to 2.2ah to maybe 2.4ah ?04:03
vagrantcbut a leap all th eway to 3.5ah? that seems either they are not lifepo4, or they are a scam ... or there has been some *huge* breakthrough that ought to be making headlines :)04:04
vagrantci have definitely pondered making a bigger case and sticking 26650 cells in :)04:05

[tj]minute: cool that’s helpful. Solderable points for swd would still help for issues leading to the watchdog triggering. Ideally I would just stick a jtag probe on it and watch events11:11

lidstahphew, got a scary moment with my openbsd tests - first boot, got a problem with the lpc (only a white menu bar left, some info disappeared on circle+s, but the battery screen worked as intended). lpc reset didn't worked (and then, battery level was ??? until a decharge/charge cycle). As I had a bit of work, and as otherwise everything seemed to work, postponed removing the batteries and putting14:00
lidstahthem back to this morning, but I think some power management lpc-side stopped working because thirsday I was working at an engineering school, left the reform on charger almost all day, checked the battery status because I found it a bit hot, and it indicated 3.7V + some screen glitches appeared. unplugging the charger and finishing the day on batteries solved it. on friday I removed the14:00
lidstahbatteries, put them back, lpc menu works as intended now, and charge doesn't go higher than 3.5/3.6V. Had another scary moment after putting back the batteries: had to plug in the charger (lenovo thinkpad 65W usb-c charger) for the reform to power on :p14:00
lidstahotoh, classic blades of exile (old school rpg) works well but had to manually compile SFML v2 for it to properly build.14:02
+ hlep (~hlep@user/hlep)14:25
minutelidstah: the white menu bar is unrelated to the lpc. it's a keyboard fw problem. you need to update the kb fw15:20
minutelidstah: the lpc is not rendering the menu.15:21
lidstahminute: hello, and thanks for the info. gonna read some docs I guess :')15:27
