d_mjosch: you're asleep now, but here's what happened. (1) the new image booted, had wifi, everything was great (2) reform-rescue-shell does not work, i get the "your configuration is currently unsupported" error03:26
d_mthe output of the error is a bit non-deterministic. sometimes it's "ext4,ext4,:' sometimes it's ',,:' and sometimes it's 'ext4,,:'.03:27
d_mi read the script and i think the problem might be that my OS is installed on the eMMC (separate /boot and /) but i also have an NVMe drive installed (but not currently used for the OS).03:27
d_manyway i need to step away but happy to help with more debugging tomorrow03:27

joschd_m: thank you, this is actually helpful because it confirms that the problem i described to ch recently is not just a problem i had06:34
joschi had the same problem on rk3588 pocket reform06:35
chwhat does the udev data say?06:36
joschi was unable to reproduce it after you told me about what to look for in udev :D06:37
joschbut since d_m had it today i feel more motivated to sit down and write a more minimal reproducer06:37
joschthe most frustrating thing is, that it's random as d_m described06:38

joschindeed, but is first calling "parted --script --json $DEVICE" and then calling "lsblk --nodeps --noheadings --output=FSTYPE ${DEVICE}p$i" something that could be problematic?09:00
joschi could just paper over it by avoiding the repeated lsblk calls and get everything from the json output of parted but then I would miss the chance to potentially learn something important09:02
chproblematic: i guess you're always racing with udev?09:03
chdunno how you can wait for udev to be "finished" or if you're supposed to wait for the device to appear somewhere/somehow09:04
joschoh? but why would something in udev change in these read-only operations?09:06

joschch: running "udevadm settle" before lsblk seems to do the trick11:36
josch"lsbk --properties-by=blkid" and thus ignoring udev also seems to do the thing11:38
