gordon1josch: not sure, googled that trackpoint hole should be 8mm, but with 8mm all the choc packages are poking out https://litter.catbox.moe/xrvsoj.png https://litter.catbox.moe/wf3vhq.png01:41

joschgordon1: can you show a source for the 8 mm? That sounds way too large. I'll measure the size I drilled once i'm home.05:58
joschch: the "bad file descriptor" is a red herring -- i got games work fine despite that message05:59
joschgordon1: the thing which already puts a hard limit to how large this can be is the housing of the choc switches06:12
joschthis is what made the assembly (out ouf pla so far) quite fragile -- there is not much space to work with and you end up with a relatively long thin stick06:12
joschah now i understand that that's what you meant with "chocs are poking out" :D06:13

joschgordon1: while you are at it: don't forget to replace the MNT logo and badge on the silkscreen with the MNT Remix logo: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform/-/tree/master/symbol-for-derived-works06:57
joschand do you want the board in black or in a more funny color like purple? :)06:58
joschch: how did you run into that problem? i thought wine in debian now has wow64 enabled?06:59
joschgordon1: about the hole size: my current solution uses a stick made from pla but i probably have to switch to a labret cheek piercing and then it's thin enough to fit: https://github.com/alonswartz/trackpoint#q-what-should-i-use-for-the-trackpoint-stemstick07:01
+ eikcaz (~user@user/eikcaz)08:12

joscheikcaz: you may want to talk to arjan here or vagrantc when they are online08:53
gordon1josch: https://github.com/manna-harbour/crkbd/blob/master/trackpoint/readme.org that's where i got 8mm, didn't look up any models tho09:12
gordon1thanks for the logo, i was actually thinking on what should i put on my stuff for mnt09:13
gordon1should i form the big reform repo on the gitlab or commit new keyboard pcb into a fresh repo? i remember complaints about gitlab server having little space or something...09:15
joschgordon1: the "little space" complaint is about dozens of gigabyte of space missing and not for the git repos but for the resulting artifacts so you should be able to create any number of repos you want09:19
joschgordon1: as for the logo: of course choose any you like, my comment was rather meant as a reminder *not* to keep the MNT logo by accident :)09:20
joschgordon1: oooh i see, the 8 mm are for the sensor dome but since the rubber dome will not sit on the pcb surface and since we need a long-ish stick anyways, i think the hole can/must be smaller -- i'll provide measurements tomorrow :)09:22
gordon1got it09:28
joschgordon1: i'm so happy you came to the congress and that we met <309:38

chjosch: my understanding is that wow64 is available, but that does not do instruction set translation between arm64 and x86. for that one would need wowbox64 (to be built from src:box64, but needs an aarch64 mingw64 clang) or some FEX-derived thing doing essentially the same13:08
chjosch: so just having wine64:arm64 and wine32:i386 does not work13:08
joschch: then how did it work for me with box64 from debian and the custom wine build from their apt repos i used a few months ago?13:13
joschi thought the instruction set translation is done via binfmt support?13:14
joschcan you make sure that it is box64 doing that and *not* qemu-user?13:14
joschif you have both box64 and qemu-user installed, then both will want to do x86 emulation13:15
joschyou force box64 to be used by doing something like:13:15
joschprintf "%s" -1 > /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/qemu-x86_6413:16
joschgrep -v '#' /usr/lib/binfmt.d/box64.conf > /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/register13:16
joschand you probably need to do the same for 32bit13:18
+ mjw (~mjw@gnu.wildebeest.org)13:32

chpretty sure its trying to use box64 but in the end it doesnt work13:36
