[tj]I have the sysctl running in a test bench again with a ppk213:27
minute[tj]: oh nice! do tell more13:27
[tj]pi pico isn't a very friendly device power wise out of the box, 150mA surge at boot13:27
minute:313:27
[tj]I got this mess together: https://altelectron.org.uk/notice/B0J0VzVbcDaSl2akfw13:28
[tj]then I got this running on the pocket so I can iterate without needing a mac https://github.com/IRNAS/ppk2-api-python13:28
[tj]the measurements from that are quite noisy, but it is an actually practical starting point13:28
[tj]I'm going to reuse a bunch of the rp2040 io as digital lines and trace out against the main function calls13:29
[tj]and I am going to get suspending all the clocks working and maybe even just clocking everything down all the time13:29
grimmware:D13:30
[tj]the pico is ~30mA average on a 5v supply between tusb_init and a broken attempt to suspend13:30
grimmwareI'm excited you're back to this13:30
[tj]killing hte power supply on the other project took away a lot of my steam13:31
[tj]for $work I am building a usb-c power meter/switch so this is a nice collection of focuses13:31
[tj]foci?13:31
[tj]focaccia13:31
minute[tj]: amazing contraption13:40
- pomel0 (QUIT: Remote host closed the connection) (~pomel0@user/pomel0)13:41
[tj]thats certainly a description13:41
[tj]I don't know what is going on in the heads of pi people, not putting power on their debug connector13:41
[tj]anyway, it lets me have power via the ppk2, usb and swd13:42

mitosu-meI tried put some Tamils putty16:29
mitosu-meI tried put some tamiya putty in screw hole and inserted screw wait putty dry, it works okeyish16:30
gordon1are you trying to repair stripped thread hole?16:34
gordon1oh sorry, missed previous message16:34
gordon1qbit: there is a thing called helicoil, it is a set of drillbit, tap and little coil with a tool to screw it in, you drill the hole larger, tap it for the coil and then you can use original screw, go up to as small as m2 IIRC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xigq7aPpff016:36
gordon1i didn't strip hole in reform chassis but i did strip threads in other things and this helicoil stuff repairs it pretty well, especially in aluminium16:38
mitosu-meCool, I didn’t know this kind of tool existed16:44
gordon1not cheap tho, but works extremely well16:45
+ pomel0 (~pomel0@user/pomel0)16:46
qbitnice, i might just try some locktite repair stuff16:46
- kxtells (QUIT: Quit: Client closed) (~kxtells@user/kxtells)16:47
qbityes, stripped chassis thread hole16:47
mitosu-mePocket reform?16:49
gordon1qbit: depending on which hole it is helicoil might or might not work, it needs space on the bottom of the hole to allow tap to bottom out16:49
gordon1i assume it is a blind hole16:49

minutejosch: i'd like to put reform-power-daemon back on the agenda. i think it's the only thing at the moment that'll help people with the spontaneous resets on battery.17:24
minutejosch: and we need to tell some people that they should try this solution (as part of the support process), but it didn't make it through your/our review yet.17:25

joschminute: the current state of the MR already has my approval. Let the perfect not be the enemy of the good. I'd assume that systems not suddenly switching off is preventing more frustration than resetting the keyboard color is causing.19:51
joschminute: do you want to apply some more finishing touches and then let it be tried as part of the next reform-tools release in the wild or would you like more testing before the next release?19:52
joschminute: could you please enable the arm64 gitlab CI runner for https://source.mnt.re/vimja/reform-debian-packages/ Thank you!19:56
rick_lidstah na hopefully a new charger board and maybe a new keyboard for the poket, cause they are both broken ^^v well the keyboard is not soooo important cause only one key doesn't work.19:57
minutejosch: i would like to release it yeah, i think it's pretty harmless. if people don't like it, they can disable or mask the service20:00
