minutech: can confirm USB + charge still works with my dell monitor with your PD rework @ pocket00:07
chgreat00:07
minutech: i also connected a sony camera to to the charging port and it is recognized as usb device as well, haven't tested that port for powering USB devices in a longer while!00:11
minutech: powerbank + a standalone charger also both work to charge00:12
minutei wonder what happens if 2 pocket reforms are connected together on that port :D00:12
chnice00:12

chgood q!00:12
minute(i don't have 2 here right now unfortunately ^^)00:12
chi briefly tried pocket <> macbook yesterday, and it seemed the mac would always be source/dfp. but havent tried swapping cables/orientation or something00:14
minutefunky00:21
minutehuh that's funny/interesting https://gitlab.collabora.com/hardware-enablement/rockchip-3588/linux/-/issues/43#note_23872400:32
minutecollabora's sebastian reichel noticed via bremner's pocket reform suspend notes, via debian planet, that rk3588 suspend is borked 00:33
minutecc gordon1 00:35

gordon1i'll test the latter one00:42
gordon1it mention rk3576 but i assume it has same dwc-pcie host controller00:43

minutewith fix https://lore.kernel.org/linux-pci/20250403093137.1481-1-ilpo.jarvinen@linux.intel.com/00:47
minutei wonder if this landed for 6.16? :000:47
gordon1interesting, works for me in both slots 00:47
gordon1with 6.16 and 6.17 kernel00:48
gordon1and worked with 6.1500:48
gordon1maybe it is the reason why i needed to do this hack with removing/reiniting nvmes in my initrd tho00:49
gordon1i need to remove this script and test00:49
vkoskivI put up my first ever blog post just now: https://vkoskiv.com/first-linux-patch/00:49

minutefascinating, rk3588 vendor kernel vop2 driver has a cursor plane! https://github.com/radxa/kernel/blob/3f671654064b5efa8538748356d2c9bd3b754462/drivers/gpu/drm/rockchip/rockchip_vop2_reg.c#L318801:01

minutebtw for me all vop2 planes seem to use 10-bit (30-bit) color, which seems like a waste01:48
minutemaybe a bug01:49
minutetomorrow i shall make a new experimental branch and disable those formats, and also try to set the last vop2 cluster to CURSOR drm plane type01:49
minutevideos also never get direct scanout01:51
bremnerhrm. that's all the time I have for now: https://paste.debian.net/1399613/02:11
bremnerI wonder if "usb usb1: root hub lost power or was reset" relates to one of the other patches floating around02:11

jfredHmm, on a recent version of both the pocket reform keyboard fw and LPC I somehow managed to get it into a state where the battery status screen would time out when I plugged into power. I think maybe the sysctl FW was having trouble negotiating with the USB-PD charger? Charging LED didn't come on during that time either15:50
jfredIt seems to have eventually negotiated and started charging, and I can open the battery screen now15:50

chhow recent is that firmware?17:20
chjfred: ^17:20
chjfred: also, if you can provide the debug output from /dev/ttyACM0 that would be lovely17:21
jfredch: Built from main on Oct 1. And oh, didn't realize you could get debug output from there! I'll see if I can reproduce it while watching ttyACM017:23
chOct 1 should be quite good17:25
chi did some rework on the weekend which you could try, but i'm not sure it would make a difference17:26
jfredch: This is while unplugging and plugging back in while watching ttyACM0. The process I had watching ttyACM0 terminated after that because the device went away/came back: https://paste.sr.ht/~jfred/29f68f7ccb2a2e731450d97f91cb4c6d02be88d517:29
chthats all? :o17:30
chcan you try a fw build from current main?17:31
jfredsure, I'll try that. though I will say I've seen this behavior before and it sometimes goes away after powering off/on via the standby switch, so I wouldn't be surprised if it goes away just because of the LPC resetting after flashing an update17:33
jfredyep, indeed - works fine again after flashing fw from current main haha17:36
jfredI'll report back if I see it again17:37
