BoostisBetterminute: evening! I was wondering if it is possible to buy the trackball pcb and components for the pocket reform by itself?00:32

vkoskiv_I tracked my sound problem from earlier to FluidSynth. I don't know why it is started automatically, but it uses up 100% of one CPU, and blocks any audio from other applications from playing.15:43
vkoskiv_I can't disable the service, so I just kill it after I log in, and that fixes that.15:43
vkoskiv_Some unrelated kernel weirdness: sugov:0 and sugov:2 kernel threads are using up quite a bit of CPU time constantly. I didn't see that before, not sure what causes it.15:46
vkoskiv_sugov:0 on cpu 0 is always at around ~60%, sugov:2 on cpu 2 around ~40%.15:46

matt2hi, i have a pocket reform that has been great for weeks, recently plugged into a charger on low battery and it wouldn't charge, now is completely unresponsive. can give more details on steps taken as needed. first, is this the place to get help with that or better in the community or support email?17:38
[tj]Email support, you might have a dead charger board. You could check by opening the bottom17:46

matt2i did open it up and doublechecked all the connections to no avail. i don't believe i have the tools to test anything on the board now. until the battery compeletely drained the battery status was showing 0.000V, keyboard would flash red intermittently. i'll get a note over to support. thanks. 17:56
[tj]If the charger board was dead there would  be deformation of one of the ics18:17

minute[tj]: we had like 2 where the deformation was not yet visible20:02
minutematt2: can you try the following: unplug the batteries from the charger board. unplug the charger board from the motherboard. use a 2mm shunt (you can "borrow" one from the jumpers near the internal usb-c port on the motherboard) to bridge pins 2+3 on the motherboard's charger connector like this:20:06

minutematt2: http://dump.mntmn.com/pocket-reform-charger-board-bypass2.jpg20:06
minutematt2: you should then be able to power the pocket directly from usb-c pd power supply without the charger board/batteries20:07

BoostisBetterminute: there is definately something wrong with my pocket's keyboard controller. I just tried resuming from psuspend and the keyboard was spanning a new Watchdog Reset message every half second. Just over and over. When I reset the usb hub it stopped but I could not resume from psuspend which I think is just because the keyboard was connecting and disconnecting so many times that that system jus20:22
BoostisBettert ignored it. 20:22

minuteBoostisBetter: yeah, it is already established that it is broken20:26
BoostisBetterminute: ok. I just wasnt sure myself. I am now. Really appreciate the assist! I love the Pocket. 20:27

minuterandom finding: the gnome-video-trimmer package seems to not declare a dependency for its required libgtk-4-media-gstreamer20:37
zehaweird that it'd need both ffmpeg and libgtk-4-media-gstreamer, but certainly possible. cant repro atm, maybe another dd can + file a bug20:40

zehak :)20:41
minuteon cli the error message was "GTK could not find a media module"20:42
zehai mean that sounds like it, but what do i know20:42
minuteflatpak version can open the video at least20:42
zehai'll make a note, but cant look at it until back home20:43
minutezeha: cool, no stress20:43

matt2thanks tj. i'll give that a try a bit later but that sounds like it should get me back up and running in the short term 21:19
^alexwe had to use an external charger on our batteries because the voltage seemed to have dipped below the point at which the syscon would start up and negotiate PD21:23

gustav28after seeing https://citronics.eu being mentioned again by hackaday I got an idea: would it be possible to do an mnt module to adapt it to the reform? 2gb ram is a bit low for a laptop, but we could stick it in the desktop/server case when it's out22:27
gustav28I have the fairphone 2 lying in a drawer, using it for something would be cool22:28
gustav28I don't understand how they got linux running on it though.. I was under the impression that it was kind of difficult with most android phones. or is the hard part of e.g. postmarketos device compatibility the drivers for screen/camera etc22:30
gustav28found this https://github.com/FairphoneMirrors/android_device_fairphone_FP223:03

sad_plangustav28: there has been some work on ff2 from postmarkedOS, but it seems that the 4 and 5 is prefered, or has gotten lots more attention23:55
sad_plancitronics look very interesting though. really cool idea23:56
