minutegrimmware: ah i see.10:12
fricklerI'm having a similar issue in that the display stays off on my pocket after a reboot, needs a powercycle to recover (or at least that's what I did for now). I can access the machine via ssh in the broken state, any idea what to look at for debugging?10:34
frickleralso some updates on the battery issue: with repeated charge/discharge cycles the delta between the cells has now gone down from about 0.4V to 0.2V, so the balancing is kind of working after all, I also get a max of 55% by now instead of 25% initially10:35
fricklerI suspect that the end status with PD connected but charging stopped due to the fuller cell triggering overvoltage actually increases imbalance again, but I need to collect more data on that to confirm10:37

grimmwaredoes anyone have a link to a fairly succinct explainer of how boot and boot configuration works on the pocket?13:52
grimmwareI'd like to try to figure out if I have a kernel installed still that doesn't have this dpms issue but I am little babby when it comes to ARM boot13:53
joschgrimmware: i wrote down how it works for imx8mq here: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-handbook/-/issues/214:03
joschthis is mostly the same on imx8mplus except that there is no dip switch14:03
joschinstead, imx8mplus will default to reading u-boot from eMMC14:03
joschgrimmware: maybe just ask what you'd like to know :)14:03
joschoh wait no, you are on rk3588, no?14:04
grimmwareYeah, mine u-boots from emmc but will override to sdcard, I remember that much from migrating to rk358814:07
grimmwareOther than that it should be pretty much equivalent, right?14:07
- paperManu (QUIT: Ping timeout: 260 seconds) (~paperManu@107.159.71.33)14:12
grimmwareHmm, I think I'm probably best off just connecting up serial and trying to use the u-boot console14:13
joschyes, connecting with an uart adapter will help greatly14:13
joschu-boot on emmc will prefer boot.scr or extlinux.conf on sd-card14:14
joschthis is also documented in the link above14:14
joschit doesn't matter where u-boot is being loaded from, the behaviour is the same14:14
grimmwarenice14:14
grimmwarecool, that should be enough to get me started :)14:16
