josch | f_: while you are here, people on the forum are wondering about suspend/resume or hibernate functionality of BPI-CM4 -- do you know some details about that? Should it/can either work? | 08:51 |
BoostisBetter | minute: I have a work around which SEEMS to be working, but basically as soon as I activate the psuspend script, as soon as the keyboard is done flashing the leds, I will activate the LPC first to check the the status, and then to check the battery. I feel like this just ensures that the psuspend script is not sending anything else to the LPC and this helps prevent it getting in a crashed state. | 09:46 |

minute | josch: haven't tested hibernate which has a bigger chance of working. for suspend there is an issue in the atf firmware where it sets some clocks too low after resuming, and linux doesn't know which ones. the librecomputer person wanted to do something about it w/ amlogic but i haven't heard updates yet | 11:13 |
BoostisBetter | minute: hibernation is the way. | 11:13 |

Manis | f_: isn't it that some of these boards don't have a PMIC and thus can't power off? I think LibreELEC "fixed" it by putting these Amlogic devices into suspend instead of powering them of. | 11:54 |
- mjw (QUIT: Ping timeout: 265 seconds) (~mjw@212.78.174.2) | 11:55 | |
josch | f_: right, if i innocently run "systemctl suspend" on my A311D Reform, the system's power consumption goes down to 5 W first and then the screen comes back on. I have to connect UART to see more of what's going on. | 12:30 |

BoostisBetter | minute: I have had 5 successful wakes from psuspend with the LPC staying responsive. I think that actions I am taking after activating psuspend are helping to clear the buffer to the LPC and this is keeping it stable. I will let you know if this fails as well. But so far it seems to be keeping the LPC happy and functional. | 14:08 |

Manis | f_: hmm. Just out of curiosity which TV box do you have? | 16:55 |
Manis | Oh wow that's a lot of Amlogic. | 17:06 |
BoostisBetter | minute: so minute are you pretty surprised by how well the Next campaign is doing coming out of the gate? | 18:28 |
BoostisBetter | minute: I also saw Factorio running in the Next campaign video. I am wondering how you were able to run that? Everytime I try it complains thgat it failed open a GL context or something like | 19:27 |
