sevanok, just a brief look at the v4 firmware tonight, sidestepped the jitter issue which shows up on restarting the keyboard when the system is up & running. I disabled the block which shows the hint which is displayed, I guess we're missing a case to skip on displaying it, not just when remote_get_power_state() if false.01:08
sevanhttps://source.mnt.re/reform/reform/-/blob/master/reform2-keyboard4-fw/src/main.c?ref_type=heads#L65901:09
sevanBut I haven't investigated further.01:09

bkeys?15:20
BoostisBetterbhkeys: that would be my question as well. Christmas / Holidays are upon us, but just curious anyway. That is going to be a night and day upgrade for my Pocket, and I can't wait. (I can of course, want MNT to all have a good holiday, and not wear themselves out.) Just asking. 16:19

grimmwareminute: I remember you inferring before that you had a plan for bringing BT and wifi to the rk3588 without needing to use an M.2 slot - is this something that's liable to come to the pocket?16:56
minutegrimmware: yes i have the first version of this now16:58
minuteit just needs a bit different pcb shape and headphone jack and standby button for pocket16:58

grimmwareoh shiiit, I didn't know you could get SMT coaxial connectors which will switch input when something's plugged in...17:06
grimmwareI was thinking about adding an SMA connector to the plate with the headphone jack in so that I could add an external antenna but wasn't sure that I'd want to have to open up the pocket every time I wanted to disconnect and use the internal...17:07

sevanI think I need to get a new set of batteries. Good run after 3 year??!20:09
sevanLet the batteries fully discharge without realising and now they won't charge.20:10
sevanreset the LPC several times but it's challenge to get the system to come up :(20:11
BoostisBetterminute: sounds interesting. 20:23
BoostisBettersevan: 3 years is really good. I think I only got about 2 years with the 2000 mah cells20:24
sevanBoostisBetter: I'm looking at the 2000mah cells atm ;)20:25
sevanA little confused between the handbook & websites advertising.20:26
sevanin the handbook https://mntre.com/documentation/reform-handbook/hardware.html#battery-packs it says "You may be tempted to try cells of other chemistries like Li-Ion or NiMH, but never do this, as these are incompatible." but websites listing "LiFePO4" batteries still state Li-Ion (because it's a variant?)20:28
minutesevan: yeah, kind of.20:30
minutesevan: just make sure they're LiFePO420:30
sevanminute: ok :)20:31
sevanminute: I was looking at https://www.batteriesplus.co.uk/acatalog/3.2V-18650-Li-Ion---LiFePO4---Lithium-Phosphate---1800mAh-rechargeable-batteries-for-Solar-Garden-Lights-2255.html & scratching my head.20:32
sevanAlso https://www.eremit.de/p/18650-3-2v-2-000mah-lifepo4 though they wont ship to the UK (there's another store which does)20:33
minutesevan: 3.2V is a good hint that they're correct20:33
sevanminute: got it, thanks for the tips :)20:33
sevanSo josch went off looking at vape stores for batteries, I'm looking at gardening shops for "solar garden light" batteries :)20:38

jfredhm, is there a way to control the maximum charge level that the reform will charge the batteries to? I've been keeping mine plugged in as essentially a desktop lately, but I know lithium ion batteries (probably including LiFePO4?) don't like staying at 100% charge perpetually20:54
jfredI bet it would be healthier for the cells if I could limit their charge to 80% or so unless I need to use it on battery for a longer period of time20:56
minutejfred: i might be mistaken but afaik that's not an issue with lifepo420:56
jfredoh interesting20:56

BoostisBetterminute: I really don't understand but the design on MNT products is just SERIOUSLY stellar. The next really has a great design. The case is super compelling all by itself. 22:04
