staticbunnyis there any documentation on remapping keys for the pocket?00:07
staticbunnyalso, would it be possible to add an addtional menu option to the oled for different keyboard profiles?00:09
hramrachthere isn't really remapping support. There was some attempt at simple key swaps https://source.mnt.re/gustav/reform/-/tree/gustav/ctrl-super-swap-modes?ref_type=heads00:34

staticbunnythanks i'll take a look00:37
staticbunnyit would be nice if the keyboard controller used QMK. 00:38
staticbunnysince QMK supports RP204000:38

vagrantcok, swapped the new keyboard and trackball into the mnt/reform! seem to work like a charm. I do seem to have lost wifi though, though iu cannot remember the last time i tried to use wifi so it could have been something else ... or i just bumped something wrong while updating the keyboard and trackball...01:19
vagrantcand eventually the rk3588 upgrade to come ...01:20
vagrantckeyboard appears to be R3 a8e8a60a01:21
vagrantcall sorts of opinions and whatnot ... would really be nice to be able to see the oled display with the lid closed ... as i watch for battery charge status after having yanked the batteries01:22
vagrantcseems like the standalone keyboard and the installed keyboard have different revisions01:22
vagrantcaccording to circle-s01:23

xhadoes anyone know how i can make linux on the pocket reform w/ rk3588 output the dmesg to serial? specifically, i am pretty sure the kernel panics (that it expected, i broke it on purpose :D), but it does not show anything on serial17:47
xhai should mention that i already tried adding "console=ttyS2,1500000n8" onto the u-boot bootargs17:57
hramrachxha: can you get output on the serial console with echo?18:00
hramrachalso if it panics very early you may need earlycon18:00
xhais a panic in the gpu driver early?18:01
xhayes, i can output to the serial console with echo18:01
xhahave to set it to 1500000 baud first but then it works18:02
xha(using stty)18:02
hramrachhopefully gpu gets initialized after serial but who knows18:02
- qbit (QUIT: Remote host closed the connection) (~qbit@2601:283:c400:36c0:63c6:255d:6e12:ab42)18:04
hramrachn8 is probably implied, and not sure the syntax is correct, might work better without18:05
hramrachgenerally it's better to work this out before crashing the kernel, then you know that no output means it crashed before setting up console18:06
xhaahh, well, now it works with "console=ttyS2,1500000n8 console=ttyS2 loglevel=7", with a different kernel18:07
xhahad to append the console=ttyS2, for whatever reason18:07
hramrachprobably because that syntax is indeed incorrect18:07
xhai see18:09
xhawell, i think i broke something when building a custom kernel. will have to figure that out first, but thanks :)18:09

jfredI'm curious what went into that repairability score/why it only got an 8/1021:54
minutejfred: same21:57
jfredit could just be due to the extra time it can take to open the bottom to disconnect the batteries when working on the top half. their repair score seems to include service time estimates: https://www.ifixit.com/News/75533/how-ifixit-scores-repairability22:05
jfredactually, it's interesting that they recommend completely removing the batteries when replacing the processor module: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MNT+Pocket+Reform+Processor+Module+Replacement/17835322:07

mhoyeWith the exposed metal brackets in my 1stgen Reform, it's alarmingly easy to short stuff by accident22:32
mhoyeI see a few people who've put heatshrink tubing around the brackets just in case.22:33
digitalranelol they give the framework 10/1022:41
digitalranewhich doesn't publish schematics like mnt does22:41
joschit seems that ifixit put focus on the service-time thing as explained in the link above. They draw this diagram and then pay attention to how often you have to switch tools etc22:42
digitalraneexcept for the little modules, but i can't see how this repairability score is a reliable measure of repairability22:42
digitalranei guess reparability means different things when you sell parts to repair companies22:45
digitalranethat's my slightly conspiratorial view anyway lol22:45
digitalraneperhaps a servicability score would make more sense for them22:46
joschdoes anybody have an idea about this issue? https://community.mnt.re/t/rcore-rk3588-cpu-and-reform2-lpc-problem/2740/122:56
hramrachspeaking of that framework does seem to designe for serviceability. Like the display bezel is held by magnets which keeps it perfectly aligned but at the same time easy to remove22:57
chdoesnt look like a problem with the module as reform2_lpc did get loaded 22:58
hramrachtheir keyboard is held by like 40 screws, though22:58
hramrachI think that 'error' is merely a notice that the module is not signed with a key the kernel knows about23:00
hramrachI see that in the log as well23:00
joschyes, i don't understand what the problem is23:01
hramrachlikely the reference count underflow is symptom of some driver bug23:04
chneeds more logs probably23:04
hramrachthis should not happen [    5.227934] rockchip-spi feb10000.spi: Runtime PM usage count underflow!23:05
hramrachbut it's not clear what is causing it, and if it's related to the observed problem even23:06
chah .spi23:06
chprobably, then23:06
