ch | hm oh well | 11:24 |
josch | that comment is already 3 years old though... ;) | 11:27 |

josch | minute: nothing happened while you were away so it seems your computers are happily computing away :D | 12:15 |
minute | very nicew | 12:15 |
josch | oh one interesting thing did come up. User with imx8mq in the forum is unable to use HDMI: https://community.mnt.re/t/hdmi-output-on-debian-stable/2569 | 12:29 |
minute | sounds like an EDID issue maybe | 12:36 |
- mjw (QUIT: Ping timeout: 246 seconds) (~mjw@gnu.wildebeest.org) | 13:01

mhoye | ACTION discovers the thread on the topic in community, hmmmmmm | 14:31 |
josch | mhoye: what's your platform? | 14:32 |
mhoye | imx8 | 14:34 |
mhoye | Debian via the reform installer, up to date afaik | 14:35 |
mhoye | Nothing in dmesg indicating a change when the cable is plugged in. | 14:35 |
josch | mhoye: oh you might be the only user who installed their imx8mq that way :D | 14:42 |

paperManu | hi there! I have a quick question: I do some computer graphics development, and I wanted to confirm that the RK3588 does _not_ support geometry shaders? Is that right? Is it a limitation of the Panfrost driver? | 15:11 |
erle | paperManu for panfrost driver stuff, i suggest to (also?) ask at #panfrost on OFTC | 15:20 |
paperManu | ah, this is indeed not specific to the Reform, sorry. I'll try to come back with an answer to that ;) | 15:27 |
+ paperManu_ (~paperManu@198.16.145.233) | 16:05
paperManu | so the answer is that the hardware does not support geometry shaders | 16:14 |
paperManu | so I have another question: I saw that there is a fork of Blender in the MNT repositories. Does that mean that the current releases of Blender do not run on the Reform ? | 16:22 |

minute | paperManu: ok so yes, geometry shaders would need to be emulated. my hope is that the vulkan driver (panvk) could run blender on the vulkan backend some day | 18:03 |
minute | paperManu: blender doesn't work on reform since 2.9 yep | 18:04 |
paperManu | right, thanks. I'm trying to figure out what I would be able to do with a Reform Pocket, as I'm really tempted ;) | 18:15 |

NanoCodeBug | yipee, its merged! I have been running it for a while on my pocket without issue - but it certainly can be improved upon, its not relying on the interrupt features at all. I think it can also be improved to enable usb mode for charging docks, which requires some extra negotiation flags. | 21:08 |
^alex | yeah we had plans to interruptify it a bit | 21:09 |
