kop316Hello! so for some reason the pocket reform only  shows the battery at 100% even though the keyboard reports it correctly. is there a way to debug this?04:22

violetjfred: something i noticed is that mine will only activate power delivery when its powered off10:18
violetso when i plug in power i need to shutdown and then turn back on or else it wont work10:18
violeti can watch this with the pinepower since the pinepower tells me what voltage/current its providing. its at 5V 0A (aka same as when no wire is plugged in) when i plug it into the laptop while it is running. I poweroff and immediately as soon as the system is shut down it jumps to 20V some percentage of an amp. And stays like that when I turn the laptop back on10:23
violetit seems to be the same with my steamdeck charger10:24
joschviolet: you applied the latest firmware update by minute?11:07
violethave not yet. i intend to11:18

mtmkop316: I started noticing the same thing last night (100% in waybar, correct on OLED panel).  Haven't had time to debug it yet15:18
+ pr8dan (~pr8dan@user/pr8dan)15:51
pr8danlike kop316 and mtm: my waybar battery is now stuck at 100%, while the oled shows decreasing battery15:56
jfredviolet: I noticed the same actually, and it didn't change after applying the update: https://community.mnt.re/t/pocket-reform-system-controller-update-looking-for-testers/2277/1815:56
kop316mtm: mine happened last night too.15:56
kop316i applied the sys controller update, but it happened before that.15:57
mtmno sys controller update for me (uGreen GaN charger was alraedy working great)16:15
- pr8dan (QUIT: Remote host closed the connection) (~pr8dan@user/pr8dan)16:17
kop316if anyone does the sys controller update, it does a hard reboot and may leave your fs in a bad state, i had to reboot twice for fsck to fix it16:30
jfredOh I just remembered I have a thing that'll show me USB-PD charging voltage and current in a box somewhere, I should go find that16:49

joschminute: if the sys controller update does a hard reboot, maybe "sync" should be called before?18:07
joschminute: or the update could be done in the initramfs before the filesystems get mounted18:07

andypiperI'm currenly running Debian Unstable as shipped, but also interested in potential alternatives. I saw mention of Plan9 in the forum, and I know others are working on getting Fedora into a good state. 19:50

dozensi don't have mine yet. i'll probably run debian, but am bsd curious.19:54

vkoskivI run debian unstable, but also curious about BSD lately21:53
mhoyedozens: if you're asking about distros you're asking the wrong question.22:20

dozensbold of you to try to tell me what i'm thinking though22:41
