vkoskivIt took me until just now to realize just how big the difference in compression ratio is between gzip and xz15:53
vkoskivI was just prepping a package for a release deployment at work later tonight, I usually just use gzip, but I noticed that my bundle was 52MB instead of the 11MB of the other .xz bundles15:53
vkoskivHuh!15:53
vkoskivI'll try recompressing some of my hard disk images in my archive now15:54
vkoskivcool, progress(1) works with gzip too!15:55

joschminute: I talked with Ben Hutchings today. He is literally working on packaging Linux 6.8 right now and plans to upload it during this week.21:13

vkoskivIs additional userspace/kernel config required to load kernel modules at runtime? Or are they supposed to load automatically? I was messing around with kernel config for an old laptop a while back, and it seems like the modules don't load when I plug the associated hardware in22:03

chipperdoodlesI'm working on a remix of the mnt motherboard and had some questions about the power systems. I figure the easiest way to keep things compatible with the reform is to follow things exactly but i was wondering if there was room for tweaking. the goal being not having to change any firmware or anything so you could just use the reform image as is22:49
chipperdoodlesis battery chemistry charge profile determined by the IC part number?22:50
