pandorathe only module with vulkan support rn is the CM4 isn't it?09:12
digitalrayneserious question because i don't know, i've noticed people talk about vulkan support, i was curious what it is useful for on reform? i thought it was a more of a think useful for emulating windows games with proton etc?09:17
digitalraynes/a think/a thing/09:17
digitalraynebut to answer the question yes a311d (banana pi cm4) has vulkan, rk3588 vulkan i think is possible but not currently available on linux09:21
pandorasimulations with godot but it needs at least opengl 3.3 or vulkan 1.009:21
digitalrayneinterestingly i always through imx8mp/mq didn't support vulkan but i'm seeing some nxp material that says they do? very confusing09:23
pandoraaccording to the mnt module overview the banana pi doesn't support vulkan?09:25
digitalraynei'd just be speculating about that, as i don't have one in order to try it out09:26
digitalraynereading about it more it seems the vulkan support for a311d might not be supported by the linux driver and needs blobs09:28
digitalraynerk3588 seems like maybe the best bet but it doesn't seem to be supported on the software side yet09:28
pandorayeah seems the cm4 would be me best bet09:29
digitalraynei'm sure minute has tinkered with this :)09:30
digitalrayneinteresting, reading about godot it specifically requires at least OpenGL 3.3, today i learned09:33
pandoraor vulkan ;)09:46
minutepandora: the bpi/a311d with panfrost can do most of 3.3 but no geometry shaders10:31
minutepandora: rk3588 will get vulkan, people at collabora are working on it, but unclear when it'll be ready10:31
minutepandora: and cm4-rpi has vulkan, yes.10:31

joschplomlompom: I've rewritten test_with_chroot.sh in reform-setup-wizard to work entirely without you ever running anything with sudo. Instead linux user namespaces are used and the wizard is run with the additional protections podman provides instead of just inside a chroot. Are you interested? If not, I'll just add my code to the Debian packaging because another thing this provides is a testing framework 15:03
joschwhich searches for the button location, clicks them and navigates the wizard that way via vnc.15:03
