swivelminute: how long for more of the printed handbooks to arrive?  i preordered that too :)05:37
swivelthe crowdsupply page is still calling it a pre-order despite the "estimated to ship date" being in the past at this point @ 3/31/202405:38

swivelstill 1500mAh, what's the point08:46
joschswivel: my laptop cannot do suspend, so what the point? ;)08:46
joschif nothing else, one point is that this is quite the risky and by that impressive hack :)08:47
joschon the point of how many mA, the reform would last much longer with li-ion batteries, so what's the point of lifepo4? ;)08:50
swivelIME LiFePO4 cells are much better at not self-discharging when powered off08:53
swivelit drives me batty that every time i pull my sony rx100 from my bag after not using for a month it won't turn on, even with a fresh oem LiIon battery from sony08:54
swivelbut i have a LiFePO4 battery booster box from Viking that will sit unused for a whole year in my trunk and still have a 90% charge08:56
swivelit's magic08:56

hramrachThe naion batteries are pretty safe without that lithium in there, and given that sodium is easier to get they will likely become much cheaper once production scales up. As to what capacity is needed depends on specific use case.09:55
hramrachApparently some firmware modification would be needed to not overcharge these cells but they seem to be usable otherwise.09:56
joschi think it's really cool :)09:59
joschi didn't even know they came in 18650 form factor10:00
joschi only saw articles about the big salt batteries as part of a grid buffer10:00

Twodisbettercapacity would just be my concern,  but they do sound promising.12:15
Twodisbetterminute: Just as a general question, do you think there is perhaps anything to be gained by moving the MNT support chat to XMPP? Media is one immediate thing I could see as a good plus from the move. I, of course, understand the reasons why IRC is a good thing as well. 12:45
TwodisbetterXMPP bridges well with IRC so it isnt a super limiting thing, but I just feel that getting fired up in XMPP is much easier, and then finding a bridge (via cheogram) is another hurdle. There is a con that the easier the barrier to entry is, the more chit chat you'll have, but I wonder if the pros would outweight the con there?12:47

o67hello, I messed up my mnt keyboard v3 by trying to flash it on QubesOS. Now I have it connected to a simple debian but qmk does not find anymore the bootloader. What can I do to reset the board or access to the bootloader ? I opened the keyboard and the switch is on13:32
o67nevermind I found the reset button and reflashed the official firmware.13:42

Twodisbettero67: excellent, glad to hear!14:16
o67Well it is not anymore flashing like a christmas tree, and seem ok to use as it, but qmk does not find the bootloader anymore14:22
o67Ok I figured out I had to play a little bit with dfu-programmer to "erase" something and flash my .hex with it and now I can flash it normally again o_รด'14:37
o67It seems this has nothing to do with QubesOS finally. Whatever I do as soon as I flash the qmk firmware, the leds go blinky blinky and I lose the control on the lcd panel 15:43

o67I may try wih a new one, I already ditched the MNT one as it was defectuous ...17:55
