AbortRetryFailheh, fuses don't immediately blow the moment their rated capacity flows through them.14:35
joschdepends on the fuse, no? they are sold as fast and slow fuses for a reason14:35
chartreuseNormal "fast-blow" fuses will still take something like 1000s to blow at exactly their rated capacity. 14:36
chartreuseIt gets exponentially faster with more and more current though14:36
AbortRetryFailit depends on the fuse and how much over their rated current you go14:36
AbortRetryFailusually there's a curve of guaranteed-to-blow current vs time 14:37
chartreuseTrying to find it again, but littelfuse had a nice chart of the curves of various fast blow fuses of theirs14:37
AbortRetryFailtbh i'm glad it does't pop the moment it goes over spec or I'd have gone through at least 20 by now.14:37
chartreuseIt's usually in the datasheet for a given fuse14:37
AbortRetryFailthe fuse would have the same problem as the USB chargers do14:37
AbortRetryFailFun anecdote btw: I can sometimes get the Reform to charge off my PinePower (20V@ 65W) but ONLY if I plug the trigger cable into the Reform first with the computer off, then plug it into the charger.14:38
chartreuseFrom a littelfuse 312 fuse data sheet (fast blow 3AG cartridge), for a 1A fuse it's 1000s at 1A, ~0.4s at 2A, and 0.09s at 3A14:39
chartreuseThough that's just an average. The fuse wire will heat up differently and could have small defects that cause it to take a little longer or go faster14:40
AbortRetryFailIt does its job as long as it lasts longer than components that would fail due to over-current14:40
AbortRetryFailerr, blows sooner, not lasts longer14:40
AbortRetryFaili need coffee14:40
chartreuseIf you need a faster blow, you can have something like a current monitoring circuit that crowbars the fuse or similar14:41
AbortRetryFailI really don't want my laptop doing that.14:41

vkoskivWayland has facilities to control window location, but they aren't exposed in upstream SDL2, so I now linked in some very dense layer shell protocol example code to create and control my window directly :D17:04
vkoskivI did find a fork of SDL2 where someone implemented support for this, but I don't want to depend on a downstream SDL2 fork for this project17:05
