Twodisbetterjosch: with the IMX00:14
TwodisbetterBut I guess you are swapping over now, so too late to know. 00:14
TwodisbetterNo worries. 00:14
AbortRetryFailIt's probably spiking just above 3A on 20V and tripping the 60W chargers' over-current protection00:15
joschTwodisbetter: the problem is that i only have very few hours per day of spare time because KiTa is closed and i have my daughter at home. So i have to reduce my hobby projects a bit. :)00:15
joschAbortRetryFail: yes, i put it back on the non-working adapter after charging it fully and still fails00:16
AbortRetryFailGlad its not just me. If/when I get around to putting a capacitor on mine to see if soft-start helps I'll let you know.00:17
joschAbortRetryFail: i just got the adapter to work that didn't work before00:22
joschcharged until full and then quickly switched cables00:22
joschthe orange light is now steady on instead of blinking00:23

ckeenhi there!11:34
ckeenI have observed that after leaving on my unit for a day and having wl-idle switching off the screen, that the reform becomes unresponsive, after doing a soft reset via circle r, the ssd is not found until I do a full powercycle.11:38
ckeencould this be a heat issue?11:38
ckeenAnd another question: Is there a keyboard fw for the reform2 that allows drawing to the oled directly?12:02

minuteckeen: on ls1028a and a311d, there is no suspend12:49
minuteckeen: and yes, with the existing keyboard fw you can draw to the OLED12:49

joschckeen: if yes, replace that with "brightnessctl set 0"14:24
joschand conversely with "brightnessctl set 7" when coming back14:24
joschyou can also tell brightnessctl to store and restore the current brightness using --save and --restore14:24
joschbut indeed using any dpms on/off will lock up your device after some time idling :(14:24
joschnobody knows why14:25
Twodisbetterso I asked a while back but not that long ago about someone getting Project Zombiod working on the Reform. On second thought, I remembered that the games AI is computational intense and it even makes my desktop 5950x heat up. So I don't think it is realistic being able to play it on the Reform. Not that there is a shortage of game to play with on the Reform. 14:35

AbortRetryFailIts probably rated for waay more current than the Reform will ever pull.19:25
joschyes19:26
josch15 A :D19:26
AbortRetryFailI've charged mine off my 14V Bioenno ham radio battery and it works great.19:27
AbortRetryFaillikewise the DC power supply for the radio stuff. 19:27
AbortRetryFailI usually do that since i had grounding issues with the Mean Well brick that came with it.19:27
joschi think i understand the appeal of usb-c pd charging and maybe i'm too oldschool but i really like how i'm able to just put attach some DC power source to the power jack and i'm good to go19:29
joschACTION had too much trouble with usb-c so far XD19:29
+ murdock (~murdock@dhcp-209-99-199-115.greenmountainaccess.net)19:30
joschminute: also, did is the 5521 barrel jack of mainboard 2.5 different from 2.0? Cables now sit quite a bit tighter but not too tight. It's a great improvement I think. Cables that were prone to falling out before are now firmly attached.19:31
hramrachthre is a capacitor or something in the meanwell bridge, changing it to a jumper fixes the grounding 19:31
hramrachmaybe it wore down over time, that happens to connectors19:32
AbortRetryFailI saw that thread. I haven't opened mine up to see.19:33
hramrachthe thing is that some people have a lot of power suppllies, and then just pluggin in a power supply is great19:36
hramrachUSB PD caters to people who want One Brick to Rule Them All because they do not have a box of power supplies, and maybe we are gettign to the point when it's mostly working19:37
AbortRetryFailI like the wide range DC input the Reform has, since it lends itself well to improvisation19:39
