austriancoderI looked around but where can I find the used kernel sources for the mnt reform 2?08:17
- qbit (QUIT: Quit: WeeChat 3.8) (~qbit@h.suah.dev)08:24
minuteaustriancoder: hi, currently the kernel sources are those of debian unstable kernel package, plus a few patches. one sec09:08
minuteaustriancoder: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-debian-packages/-/tree/main/linux09:10
austriancoderminute: thx09:16
austriancoderminute: I created a gitlab account .. maybe you can approve it? Or even easier.. what do you think of integrating this patch in your current kernel? https://git.pengutronix.de/cgit/lst/linux/commit/?h=etnaviv/next&id=20faf2005ec85fa1a6acc9a74ff27de667f9057609:20
austriancoderwould make debugging gpu hangs easier on the reform 2 09:20
austriancoderthat patch should land in 6.609:21
minuteaustriancoder: just approved you!09:26

minuteaustriancoder: i have now assigned the runner to include your fork11:56
austriancoderminute: \0/11:56
minuteand restarted your build!11:57
joschaustriancoder: could you move your patches (either with or without the etnaviv directory) into linux/patches/imx8mq-mnt-reform212:12
joschthe patches directory has subdirectories grouped by platform and etnaviv is specific to imx8mq and imx8mp but not applicable for the a311d nor the ls1028a12:12
joschs/nor the ls1028a//12:14

austriancoderjosch: I do not wanted to duplicate the patches for imx8mp-mnt-pocket-reform and imx8mq-mnt-reform2) thats why I have put the in the generic etnaviv folder.15:51
austriancoderjosch: also these are kernel patches that do not hurt on e.g. a311d15:51
minutemakes sense re: duplication. 16:22
minutethe patch applies to both imx8mq and imx8mp, we didn't have this situation before josch 16:23
+ Boostisbetter (4a410829d7@irc.cheogram.com)16:24
minutejosch: i would merge this, if you have no more reservations?17:02
minutejosch: actually the patch also applies to ls1028a, which also uses etnaviv (sorry for not thinking about this earlier)17:02
joschmerged! :)17:17
joschaustriancoder: as far as i know there is no DCO one needs to agree to before submitting patches to the MNT repos, so the signed-off-by header is of little meaning17:21
minutegreat17:44
joschminute: the Cadence MHDP8501 patch v8 already was partially acked -- if you have time we could apply it and try it before its final release: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20230808083243.3113192-1-Sandor.yu@nxp.com/17:48
austriancoderjosch: next MR will not have a signed-off-bys ;)18:05
austriancoderjosch: thanks for merging18:05
joschthank you for contributing! :)18:06
minuteaustriancoder: do you have more insights on the MHDP/hdmi patchset?18:11
minutecurrently we are still carrying a big patchset that's just a port from the vendor kernel18:12

BoostisbetterI have been on my Reform for a while and guilt has me using it now. I can say that on the current Reform kernel I have been able to resume from suspend 19 times. I am using the workaround that minute posted about on the forums. 21:51

BoostisbetterYeah, because as of right now, we are in the same territory for suspend stability as we had with the 5.12 kernel. 22:02
