flowyya'll might enjoy seeing this trackball project: https://macroball.dexkeyboards.io/04:46
flowyimagine modding a reform with a massive trackball that doesn't care about being too large for the lid to close :D  has to be removed every time.04:50
Boostisbetterthat looks amazing, but I would never put it in my Reform. I think the Reform's trackball is perfect for its purposes.07:45
BoostisbetterI'm tempted by that trackball though. I do wonder about ergonomics though. I'm using a big ol' Kensington Expert right now, and the little palm rest it comes with it quite nice.07:47

Boostisbetterwork proxy complains that the domain is too new and wont let me see it. Good thing I have a smartphone. Hahaha07:49

flowyBoostisbetter: yes, it isn't a rational fantasy. ;)14:49
flowybut imagine opening your reform and the final step before 'puting you take a massive trackball out of a drawstring pouch and plop it into the cup14:50
flowyminute: oh but a more practical fun idea for the mnt trackball is using a semitranslucent material for the ball and illuminating it14:55
flowyBoostisbetter: the creator of that project was also previously using the kensington expert. they simply put a palm rest in front of their macroball and say it's similar ergonomically14:58
BoostisbetterVery nice. I entered myself as interested so hopefully it comes to be. 14:59
minutehad a pocket reform design meeting today https://mastodon.social/@mntmn/11084815728987587615:07
Boostisbetterdream team there doing awesome work! Really looking forward to getting the Pocket15:11
Boostisbetterwas there a lot of design still left to do? Did something need changing?15:12
minuteBoostisbetter: we'll write a post about it soon!17:30
minutejosch: i'm trying your debian installer image on a reform, so cool! amazed that the wifi+access point selection works during install17:30

joschi'm so happy tha ex-parrot tried d-i again. Last time i tried i got symptoms that would've needed a *lot* of free time to figure them out. Time I absolutely am not having these months. It didn't occur to me to try it again after the Debian Bookworm release. I did not expect that whatever problem it was it would just magically fix itself. XD18:22

minutehm, how do i convince update-initramfs to mount a different disk than before for cryptsetup?22:55
minuteit has the old UUID stored somewhere22:55
josch/etc/crypttab22:55
minuteit's not in /etc/crypttab...22:55
joschoh :)22:55
minutejosch: yeah, that's what i thought22:55
minutebut that says /dev/nvme0n122:55
minutemaybe uboot is loading an old initramfs22:56
joschmaybe it does some magic with what you have in your /etc/fstab?22:56
minutenope22:57
joschfk_kvers in your boot.scr should tell you which one it loads (unless you use u-boot-menu)22:57
minuteaha, that's the old one (because i was overwriting boot.scr by hand, my bad)22:58
minuteyes, that was the problem. thanks for that idea josch 23:00
