Boostisbetterjosch: I'm dealing with a weird issue when using the 5.12 kernel these days. Basically everything boots up fine, wifi takes longer to connect, but other than that I can't get the app launcher to work. MNT + D is normall the key combo for it, but it doesn't work under 5.12. Do you have any idea what that could be all about?11:29
Boostisbetterin other news, it looks like the Purism forums came back up.12:01
minuteBoostisbetter: not a kernel issue i think. can you try running the launcher command in a terminal?13:24
Boostisbetterminute: what is the launcher command?13:24
BoostisbetterI do question all of the updates I am installing. I'm bound to cause problems using an older kernel with those updates.13:25
minuteBoostisbetter: you can find it in sway config13:27
minuteBoostisbetter: look for "rofi"13:29
minutenowadays i use wofi, need to update the reform desktop "experience" soon13:30

minuteBoostisbetter: it means you don't have xwayland running for some reason15:49
minuteBoostisbetter: wofi uses wayland natively. rofi is still a X11 application15:49
minuteBoostisbetter: normally sway starts Xwayland. what happens if you try to start the following in terminal: Xwayland -retro :215:50
minute(note the capital "X")15:50
joschminute: the default ~/.config/sway/config shipped by reform-tools uses rofi instead of wofi -- should that be changed?15:51
minutejosch: not yet. i am still preparing some improvements to waybar, wofi, etc15:52
joschkk15:52
minutetogether with the new option of wayfire15:53
joschwhat motivated the switch from RCA to TRRS?16:01
minutelimited space in that region and also it will just allow to feed all the pins through, not only audio out16:02
joschi'm happy to see more ls1028a photos on mastodon :)16:03
minuteoh yeah :D16:06
minuteyou're one of the first orders so you'll hopefully get it soon16:06
joschYES!!!16:06
minutebecause it's HDI tech the PCBs themselves needed like 4 weeks to be made @ pcbway16:07
minutei guess their queue is quite crowded16:07
minute> Components Status: In stock16:07
minute> PCB Status: In fabrication16:07
joschno worries, KiTa is closed for the next three weeks, so in that time i don't get to do much on my Reform anyways XD16:07
joschso for me the delay is just fine :)16:08
+ mtm (~mtm@c-71-228-84-213.hsd1.fl.comcast.net)16:10
joschthough i guess it's time to start looking into an SATA M.2 drive as the ls1028a will not work with my existing pcie drive, right?16:17

Boostisbetterminute: could you tell me briefly how I can switch to wofi? I would prefer using it as it is using Wayland natively. 16:36
Boostisbetterminute: no worries if you don't have the time for that. I can be patient. I am using 6.4 now with the Reform, so I am ok with waiting as well. 16:37
BoostisbetterNot sure why 5.12 is having those issues. But it also has a really long delay on connecting wifi as well. 16:37
BoostisbetterOf course under 6.4 everything runs perfectly fine. 16:38

jfredI put this pin on my MNT hat. It felt fitting since being repairable is one of the Reform's biggest strengths, and since I've repaired mine before https://usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com/file/JLLiv0Ev/IMG_20230803_154606_322.jpg20:28
minuteoh what does it mean?20:49
jfredminute: It's kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold. The idea is to embrace the object's history rather than hiding the repair21:49
