joschsevan: cdns-hdmi-core.c already has #include <drm/drm_edid.h>. If an #include were missing, i would've gotten an error at compile time not when linking.06:15
AsmadeusDRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER is selected by various rivers like DRM_DW_HDMI06:17
Asmadeus+d06:17
Asmadeusso you can just enable one of these and you'll get the config element06:18
Asmadeusyou can also just force it: ./scripts/config --enable DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER06:19
Asmadeus(or 'echo CONFIG_DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER=y >> .config' if you're lazy); but it's a dependency problem in the cadence driver06:19
Asmadeusthe proper solution would be to add `select DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER` to whatever pulls in drivers/gpu/drm/bridge/cadence/cdns-hdmi-core.o06:20
Asmadeus(in the Kconfig file of the same or parent dir probably)06:20
joschAsmadeus: thank you! If I just run "echo CONFIG_DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER=y >> .config && make Image" the output suggests that the helper isn't compiled yet -- do i have to run anything else after changing .config and before running make?06:23
Asmadeushm make should recompute what it needs to build automatically, let me check06:26
joschAsmadeus: aha! adding "select DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER" to "config DRM_CDNS_HDMI" in drivers/gpu/drm/bridge/cadence/Kconfig made the helper get compiled!06:28
joschOBJCOPY arch/arm64/boot/Image06:30
joschnice!06:30
joschthank you Asmadeus! :)06:30
Asmadeusgreat, my computer is 99% hogged up by an horrible webpage I wish didn't exist so I'm glad you figured it out :P06:32
AsmadeusI guess someone ought to send that as a patch upstream if it's still a problem, do you know how to do that?06:33
joschAsmadeus: the patch isn't even upstream yet :(06:33
Asmadeusoh, that'd explain why I didn't find the file in my not-so-old tree06:33
joschthe DRM_CDNS_HDMI part is a local patch06:33
AsmadeusI guess that makes it easier to fix though :)06:34
joschoh whoops, sorry XD06:34
joschyes :)06:34
joschi only once have submitted a patch to the kernel (and it was something very trivial) -- the reform patches are waaaaay above my skill level :D06:35

Boostisbetterminute: very nice, like some of the posters, I think putting more than one mainboard in there makes a lot of sense. 19:02
chaseadamIs the threashold value used by the LPC a true read of the cell level or is there a drop somewhere consider? From what I can tell, the LiFePO4 cells do not have significant capacity remaining below 2.6V (under reasonable load) which is higher than the LPC thresholds of 2.45 undervolt and 2.3 critical undervolt. This is my reference for the discharge curves https://www.powerstream.com/lithium-phosphate-charge-voltage.htm19:02
chaseadamThe 40 euro shipping (to US) of the battery protection boards pushed me over the edge to trying to spin my own. It appears the protection circuit has a wide voltage range of 2.1V UVP and 4.6V OVP (if I am reading the datasheet correctly for R5617L020FF mentioned in the schematic). I found a much "tighter" 2.5V UVP and 3.850 OVP TI BQ29706 which appears to be better matched to LiFePO4 chemistry. I am curious if anyone sees issues with trying19:03
chaseadamto use these tighter limits? 19:03

jfredRack Reform is looking good! Looks small enough to fit in the old server rack my brother's company was about to throw out too19:30
minuteyeah, it is only 37cm deep and 1U19:33
jfred...is this going to be the thing that finally prods me into getting rack-mountable network gear?19:36
jfredit may well be19:36
q66looks neat, though i'd be much more interested in just a standalone board 19:37
minuteq66: ah yeah, we need to add that to the shop. noted19:37

minutehow many cores?19:38
q668019:38
q66well, it's currently in customs 19:38
q66might arrive tomorrow 19:39
q66the next time for getting more stuff will be when sifive releases their p550 board, so if you make standalone reform board available i might get them together :p19:41
q66i don't expect that to be 3k at least 19:42

sevanI don't know what the situation is with PC Engines (whether they're out of the x86 hardware business and looking to build a new platform or if the company as a whole is winding down) but there's a potentia niche for the not-laptop formfactor22:24
sevanhttps://www.pcengines.ch/eol.htm22:25
minute> Despite having used considerable quantities of AMD processors and Intel NICs, we don't get adequate design support for new projects. In addition, the x86 silicon currently offered is not very appealing for our niche of passively cooled boards. After about 20 years of WRAP, ALIX and APU, it is time for me to move on to different things22:29

Boostisbetterso unfortunately after about 110 successful wakes, I have had 2 crashes under 5.12 when resuming. I think at this point it is something that has propagated on my system through use. It still provides a good base to refer to, but I'm real keen still at looking at how the Librem 5 is so successful at coming back from suspend. 23:03
