violetso i have this older-batch reform. i need to buy a replacement battery board for it? or was the battery thing a firmware update or what12:58
violeti dont remember12:58
violetalso the OLED display for the system controller has hella ghosting going on, idk whats up with that13:00
violetor burn-in or w/e13:00
violetbut that doesnt rly matter13:00
joschviolet: the battery board upgrade is a hardware upgrade: https://shop.mntre.com/products/protected-battery-board13:16
joschviolet: the oled display can suffer from a burn-in effect if it displays the same thing for too long (usually the MNT Reform logo)13:17

minuteviolet: if you order the battery boards and write a note to support@mntre.com, we can throw in a new oled for free14:17

Booster[m]PSA: make sure you are aware of your OLEDs status, if you just remember to turn it off, you wont have to deal with any burn in. I guess my obsession with not wasting trickle power had me focus on such a thing. But if you do that the OLED will last a long time.16:50
BoostisbetterIn other news, josch and minute I am close to 50 wakes from suspend on 5.12. I am beginning to suspect that the case that was messing up 5.12 was just because of the v2 image I had earlier. 17:10

jfredminute: you were right, looks like F2 has blown18:22
jfredNice, it's in a holder so no SMD soldering needed \o/18:29

eerywell, etnaviv doesn't like 64k page sizes18:53
joscheery: 18:57
minutejfred: oh very good to know @ F219:23
violetthxthx, yeah i got this secondhand, i imagine the OLED was just left on for awhile by accident at some point19:41
joschoh there is a second-hand reform market?19:42
violetif 1 is a market then i guess so!19:42
violetsomeone i know on mastodon couldnt use there's cause i guess they hard-depend on some functionality that only exists under X right now so they sold it to me19:43
joschnice :)19:43
violetcan i pop this trackball out to clean it btw19:44
joschyes, this should be done regularly (you know when by the mouse pointer not moving much anymore)19:45
joschessentially, just like back in the day when we had computer mice with balls in them19:45
violetlike do i need to unscrew the thingy for that or how do i do it (on my usb trackball theres a hole in the bottom to poke a pencil for)19:45
Boostisbetterviolet, you just have to remove the 2 buttons to the left and right and then 2 screws. viola it comes out. 19:45
violetah cool19:45
violetyeah i am a hardcore trackball user so i am familiar with the need :p19:45
violeti am also wondering if maybe i can do any mods to make the keyboard acoustics a bit less boomy somehow 19:49
violetbut maybe that is a lost cause because the computer is a box! idk19:49
violeti mainly intend to use this to setup my software environment so i have it set up for the pocket tho so nbd19:51
joschviolet: the keyboard acoustics greatly change by applying this mod:19:52
joschhttps://community.mnt.re/t/reform-mod-idea-internal-keyboard-brace/137319:54
violetooooooooo19:55
jfredOh, I bet the blown fuse explains why all but one of the cells was discharged a bit when I pulled them out while one was still at 100%19:55
