grimmwareusing the center LEDs as a battery meter is a really nice touch11:01
joschminute: i tried it out and it works for me just fine11:05
joschminute: if you like we can build it as part of reform-debian-packages and then ship it in the repo11:05
joschthough i do not see its utility because it's even more minimal than clapper11:05

chartreu1eMy biggest gripe with clapper is the API it uses for youtube not allowing you to change quality on your own, it just picks a quality and changes how it sees fit, sometimes leaving me with a video stuck at 144p18:44
minutejosch: ah. i need to check if it performs better on pocket reform, which has some more constraints (i.e. rotation of the whole screen)18:45
chartreu1eThough since that uses gstreamer as well I think it'd be subject to the same issues18:45
joschchartreu1e: there used to be a bug where clapper+gtuber dropped to the lowest quality on error a few months ago -- did you try it recently?19:05
joschfix is here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/merge_requests/341919:06
* chartreu1e -> chartreuse19:14
chartreuseI think I last updated the flat pack maybe a month ago, but will check again19:14
chartreuseStill would prefer to have the option to select the desired quality and it hold that, like saying 720p is fine or such. But if it stops dropping to 144p all the time I might actually use it more19:16
eeryLast week I took my Reform through airport security at Frankfurt and they were very perplexed by it lol, I wish I'd understood their internal discussion19:25
chartreuseIt's funny that if it had an opaque bottom it'd somehow be "less suspcious"19:26
vkoskiveery: Same but on monday. They were amused by the machine but just gave it a once over and set it aside.19:27
vkoskivThen I had forgotten a can of monster energy in my backpack, and got questioned by the police :D19:28
eeryThey seemed amused by the trackball x) for me, they made me power it on and show the linux kernel log19:28
+ bgs (~bgs@212-85-160-171.dynamic.telemach.net)19:30
eerythere were a few tense moments while the "waking up LPC" status counted from 1 to 100 and the screen stayed blank for a while haha19:30
sevaneery: lol19:47
rafostar[m]<chartreuse> "Still would prefer to have the..." <- Making this configurable from Clapper is on my to-do list and this works already within `gtubersrc` element (can be tried from terminal with `gst-launch-1.0`). For the time being I was contributing to GStreamer with various dash fixes and GStreamer devs were working on that part too, so the newer the version of GStreamer you have the better streaming works.19:59
joschoh i forgot that rafostar[m] is even idling in here :D20:00

minutejosch: thank you!22:41
joschshould show up in the repo any moment now22:41
rafostar[m]<josch> "fix is here: https://gitlab...." <- BTW: This one is actually for legacy dashdemux, thus unlikely to be merged at this point. I got the same thing merged for new dashdemux2 element and fix is available since GStreamer 1.23.1.22:50
joschrafostar[m]: i didn't say it was merged but that is the patch that we apply on top of gstreamer 1.22 we ship in the mnt reform Debian package repo22:53
joschrafostar[m]: do you ship gstreamer 1.22 in your flatpak builds or are you at 1.23 there?22:57
- bluerise (QUIT: Changing host) (~bluerise@pc19f8c7a.dip0.t-ipconnect.de)23:00
+ bluerise (~bluerise@user/bluerise)23:00
rafostar[m]<josch> "rafostar: i didn't say it was..." <- Well, per devs request it was split into two MRs for legacy and new element where the one for the new was merged. Since you use 1.22 + playbin3 the new dashdemux2 will be used, so make sure you also apply the dashdemux2 fix (either merged one or before MR split), otherwise you fix element that you do not use.23:01
rafostar[m]<josch> "rafostar: do you ship gstreamer..." <- Right now 1.20, due to one regression with subtitles handling causing freezes that was recently fixed in 1.22.2 so I will update it soon.23:03
joschminute: you can now apt install livi https://mntre.com/reform-debian-repo/pool/main/l/livi/23:10
joschrafostar[m]: yes, i also applied the dashdemux2 fix -- gtuber with youtube and twitch seems to work just fine23:10
joschminute: note, that if you have gtuber (from rafostar[m]'s clapper) installed, then even livi will be able to play youtube links out-of-the-box23:16
rafostar[m]<josch> "minute: note, that if you have..." <- There was never any point in keeping/making this exclusive to Clapper, if I can make a software that benefits other apps I will.23:24
joschrafostar[m]: it's amazing stuff! i fear many people will not realize that your gstreamer additions and fixes benefit most gstreamer video players and not just clapper23:26
