mjwgsora, as far as I understand it CrowdSupply places some orders themselves for successful campaigns so they have stock that they can resell after the campaign ends. Which helps mnt because they will take on some of the risk of not being able to sell everything directly.14:38

Boostisbetteragreed, glad you asked the question because I didn't quite get what house order was all about. I think it is cool that crowd supply pads the orders after a successful campaign exceeds the minimum for funding. 15:06
BoostisbetterReally glad things are going so well. I hope this helps to illustrate how the pocket dimension computer is something people are interested in. 15:06
murdockHello all, I had a question on the reform.  I noticed a fair bit of discussion regarding the batteries and overdischarge and 15:09
murdockWanted to see if that issue was resolved and what the best practice is to maintain battery health.  Can it rest in standby off power plug?  Can it rest in power off indefinitely?15:10
Boostisbetteryes, they were resolved in the form of new battery boards. I personally never had a problem with it before, but I made sure to keep the batteries charged. 15:11
BoostisbetterHowever with the new battery boards the issues are specifically safeguarded against. 15:11
joschmurdock: I upgraded to the new battery boards but I also didn't have any deep discharge issues with my unit.15:12
joschmurdock: But I also use my reform daily. As I understood it, the deep discharging usually happens if you leave your reform unused on the shelf for an extended period of time15:13
Boostisbetterexactl|y15:18
murdockGotcha.  So as long as you use it, say, once a week it's ok to leave it up on the shelf?15:25

minutemurdock: no protected battery boards?18:58
murdockSorry, posted oddly.  Got my battery question answered18:58
murdockI wanted to ask if folks have tried qgis and could comment on performance 18:58
murdockI use an rpi 400 as my main machine and am ok with it, but noted the mx8mplus processor is a bit slower than that18:59
murdock(looking to buy)19:00
minutemurdock: what are the main apps you need to run?19:05
pandora[m]ah no... I was wrong . There are just x64 builds for linux. Only MacOS has an ARM build for unity19:08
+ ajr (~ajr@user/ajr)19:08
murdockLibre office/typical "productivity" stuff, qoppa pdf studio (measuring PDFs is a daily need for my job), sunvox, qgis (ideal), a DAW (currently use audacity), music and video player, gimp19:11
minutemurdock: does qoppa have a arm64 build or do you use that through e.g. box64?19:24
minutemurdock: are you looking at pocket reform or "big" reform?19:24
murdockThe big one.  I was able to natively install qoppa pdf on my rpi without any workarounds19:27
minutei see. i mean, i am working on finishing the adapter for CM4 for reform19:33
