grimmwarehttps://www.mythic.computer/essays/origins probably of interest to people here, this person built a handcrafted computer and wrote a lot about the philosophy of the design including some interesting stuff on the implicit repairability of the more labor intensive methods02:46

joschi saw your latest mastodon post. the text for the LS1028A says 1.3 GHz under "specifications" while https://shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-reform-ls1028a-module-preorder talks about 1.5 GHz so i guess either has to be updated05:12
joschminute: and maybe the shop page should mention that one has to switch out a pci ssd for a sata ssd :)05:13

mtmif I'm working on a remix of the Reform keyboard, should I be using 'reform2-keyboard-pcb' or 'reform2-keyboard3-pcb'?  They both seem to be using the ATMega32U4, where is the RP2040 version hiding?16:53
mtmunrelated; does the Pocket Reform have a 'lid closed' switch?16:55

minutemtm: i would say either, depending on the layout... keyboard3 is the staggered one (has one or two LEDs in the wrong place, otherwise ok i think)18:23
minutemtm: rp2040 one wasn't finished18:23
minutemtm: there's only a finished pocket reform rp2040 one18:23
minutemtm: the pocket does not yet have a lid closed switch, but i'm inclined to add it18:24

minuteis there a clean 64 bit image with real kms and normal mesa 3d driver setup available for rpi cm4?18:27
minuteif i boot cm4 with the hdmi/edp adapter on hdmi2, interestingly it even shows the rainbow rectangle on boot, but blackness after that. i think that's a side effect of using the normal kms drivers, something is wrong with the console setup then18:34

cmahnsput in my pre-order for the pocket this morning! didn't have a use for the full sized laptop as i ended up getting a framework last year as my first new laptop purchase in 10 years. but the pocket is perfect for packing for bike trips or just general travel so i had to get it once i got paid. can't wait to get my hands on it!!!18:54
