chartreuseminute: Figured out the cause of it, there was a bug fix for diff transparances that was merged in 6.0.1 that added another temporary buffer to the opengl code, I made a fix much in the same vein as your original one to fall back to the slightly buggy behaviour in case that buffer can't be allocated. (You also need to still turn off AA but I'll see if that can also be gracefully done)01:34

violetgot the v4l2-requests ffmpeg fork building on my quartz64 today, alongside mpv's new dmabuf-wayland video output. runs beautifully, all the unnecessary copies between the vdec hardware and gpu buffers are gone. probably would work well on i.MX chips too given iirc that is also v4l2-requests based09:41

vkoskivminute: I had access to a scope at instanssi, so I measured the chassis of my Reform referenced against ground, and found a roughly ~160V AC on there while the charger is plugged in.12:14
vkoskivI don't feel it with my hand, but it's enough to mess with the capacitive touch screen on my phone if I charge it from the Reform while the Reform is also charging.12:14
- XYZ (QUIT: Remote host closed the connection) (~XYZ@37.48.17.42)12:14
vkoskivWondering if you also see the same, or if my power supply is messed up? I did drop it once or twice :D12:14
vkoskivI also noted that my power supply doesn't seem to be grounded.12:15

vkoskiv(No continuity between the outer shell of the barrel plug and the ground pin on the AC input side)12:15
vkoskivI'm not an electronics expert, this same thing happens on my Macbook if I use a non-grounded cable for the power adapter, though.12:16
sigridi always had the same issue re phone screen12:16
sigridconnecting stock power supply is enough to make phone unusable if it's connected to the reform12:17
sigridpower supply from a different laptop worked just fine12:18
minutevkoskiv: yes, the stock PSU is ungrounded12:41
minutei am not sure if one exists that can safely ground 12:41
minutealso wonder how it behaves with USB-PD adapter12:42

pandora[m]vkoskiv:  that is pretty normal ... every manufacturer that sells laptops with a metal case and a 2prong power adapter has this issue19:00
pandora[m]i have this on all my macbooks that have just a 2prong charger19:00
vkoskivpandora[m]: I'm still unclear on if it is possible/common to connect the - of dc output to the ac ground pin19:00
pandora[m]dell has it too: https://www.dell.com/en-us/blog/notebook-tingle-sensation-what-39-s-going-on/#tab0=019:00
vkoskivIs that a thing?19:01
vkoskivI'd want to obtain a similar power supply but with better grounding19:01
pandora[m]some power supply connect the low side of the secondary side with safety ground on primary side ( through a resistor?) .  It keeps the case from "floating" . 19:20
swivelapparently it's common to upgrade the macbook power cable to a 3-prong variant apple offers19:21
vkoskivYeah that's what I do with my macbook19:21
swivellately i've been noticing a 60hz hum from my old harman/kardon discrete preamp+amp setup, and wonder if grounding their chassis would help.. they have 2-prong power cables19:23
swivelbut they're old enough it might just be a case of needs electrolytic caps replaced19:24
violetjosch: good to see the 5.x patchset works with the current kernel headers at least19:52
violeti hadnt checked into that yet19:52
pandora[m]but I guess grounding your laptop is not always desired since it is a bit more likely to introduce ground loops. If your charger is grounded than your laptop has the same ground. If you now connect your laptop to some industrial appliances you may introduce another, completely different ground and may disturb signals and measurements 19:52
violeti rebased the 4.x branch on 4.4.3 because gentoo stable is still 4.4.319:52
violetnot a debian user myself19:52
pandora[m]bug i guess thats not really a problem in a normal household19:52
violetwell. for some definition of "works", seeing your notes there. but ill take "builds" as a start19:55
pandora[m]<swivel> "lately i've been noticing a 60hz..." <- if everything (including laptop etc.) is connected to the same outlet you should not get a ground loop. But you can have all kind of other noises that are come through all the cables. USB, unbalanced cables.... 20:05
