Ar|stote|isminute: I was wondering if there is an ETA on the laird antennas on the website. Have been checking frequently lately in order to get them along with a couple more accessories.09:45
joschminute: i think the product description of https://shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-reform-optical-trackball-module needs an update. The description talks about Kailh Choc Browns and ATmega32u2. I just received the 2.0 version with the RP2040 and what looks (and sounds) like Kailh Choc White Switches. :)10:03
Ar|stote|isjosch: that sounds right, I believe they changed it due to components shortage. I still need to get the cup with the updated bearings assembly for mine10:33

bkeysI'm not an electricity guru, but the voltage is the only thing that matters, right?20:42
bkeysI think it's something like a 9-32V range? 20:42
bkeysI lost my default reform charger and I want to use a wall wart to charge it until I find the old charger20:42
bkeysI think if something says 13V 1.5A it just means that the 1.5A are available, but it's not necessarily what will be flowing through the Reform?20:43
ex-parrotyes that is right20:44
ex-parrot(about the current)20:44
ex-parrotI don't remember the exact reform supply voltage off the top of my head but I've charged mine on 19v and 20v20:44
bkeysI have this 13.5V and 1.5A power supply, and the red LED at the bottom quickly blinks once20:45
bkeysDoes that mean anything bad?20:45
ex-parrotpossibly means the PSU is shutting down for some reason20:46
bkeysSo I should not use this power supply?>20:46
ex-parrotdoes the keyboard OLED display indicate charging is happening?20:46
bkeysNope20:46
ex-parrotthat power supply is only good for 20 watts so it may be overloaded by the Reform if it needs to do a big charge20:46
ex-parrotyeah I'd say it's prob not sufficient then20:47
bkeysAs in I need something more?20:47
ex-parrotyeah20:47
joschi've tried my reform with a warriety of wall sockets including some where you could set the output voltage freely between 6 and 20V. All of them turned out to be too cheap and were not able to provide the necessary Amperes the reform draws. :)20:48
bkeys13.5V at 1.5A is 20.25W20:48
bkeysI bought the type C adapter that minute showed in the community and people said it works great20:48
pandora[m]ex-parrot: Wouldn’t it just starting to discharge the batteries too by the amount missing?20:48
ex-parrotI don't know what capabilities the charge controller has, it might not be able to orchestrate that?20:49
bkeysI have a type C wire that shows how many watts is going through the wire and it says 1W when I hook it up to the Reform20:49
ex-parrotbkeys: I'm using a USB-C PD adapter I built myself and it works well 20:49
ex-parrot1 watt is definitely too low20:49
bkeysBut it's hooked up to the pine64 USB PD brick20:49
joschduring normal use (according to the keyobard display) my refor draws between 8 and 9 Watts20:49
pandora[m]ex-parrot: My physics professor would have disagreed… just a matter of cooling 😜20:50
bkeysThe OLED hasn't reported the battery percentage in a while, I hope that still works and that I didn't fry anything20:50
ex-parrotthe biggest risk probably is your batteries may become over-discharged20:51
bkeysYeah I am trying to find a suitable charger20:55
bkeysI have the pine64 brick I don't know why it doesn't charge it20:55
bkeysIt's a 65W power brick and can charge other laptops20:56
joschbkeys: my reform only managed to charge via usb-c when i bought a 60 W usb-c AC adapter20:59
bkeysDoes it get more than 1W?20:59
joschbkeys: the PinePower is rated at 65 W but it says: 65W combined output20:59
joschhttps://www.pine64.org/pinepower/20:59
bkeysIt only has the Reform hooked up to it21:00
joschsince it has two usb-c ports, that could mean that each of them only do 30 W21:00
joschso 5 W for the usb port (which is the maximum for normal usb) plus twice 30 W makes 65 W overall21:00
bkeysIf I plug it up to my work laptop, the wire says it gives the work laptop 50W+21:00
bkeysAnd that would be fine but I am not getting 30W, I am getting 1W21:01
bkeysI swapped it with this brick elsewhere in the house and it says 1W on the wire21:02
bkeysI think I am best off with wall plugs instead of type C21:02
bkeysMy friend has a pawn shop with a laundry basket full of power supplies I will just swing by and go get one since everyone is so confident it will not fry my Reform at all21:02
ex-parrotbkeys: it sounds like your USB-C PD cable isn't properly negotiating up to 20v21:03
ex-parrotor it is and the upstream PSU is struggling again21:03
ex-parrotI have run my Reform off my PinePower 21:04
ex-parrotbut not from completely flat21:04
