joschso... my mouse pointer started moving extremely irretically, jumping all the way from the left to the right in very high frequencies. I've never observed that effect. In the past when the trackball sensor was dirty, the mouse pointer would just start moving sluggish or not at all when turning the ball.02:22
joschso i turned my unit around and there was some white liquid that covered the components around the trackball sensor and had already oozed onto the acrylic itself02:23
joschi opened my unit, removed the sensor and cleaned it as best i could02:24
joschno idea what that white liquid was, because the trackball itself was clean and the liquid was suspicially concentrated around the components of the trackball sensor itself and not anywhere else....02:24
joschanyhow, i think my trackball is finally completely busted :(02:25
joschafter a reboot, the leds behind the five buttons are now constantly on (how did that happen??)02:25
joschand while the mouse buttons still function, the trackball doesn't register any movement :(02:25
joschminute: is it possible to buy just the trackball sensor from you or should i buy the full trackball assembly? with the leds on all the time now, i'm not sure how much broke...02:26

minutejosch: are those leds still on? do you have the atmega version of the trackball or rp2040 version?12:08
minutejosch: we can send you a new sensor but i wonder if the trackball controller itself is still ok12:09

joschminute: the leds are on. I have to check later which version i have. Is the trackball controller a different one from the one that manages mouse button presses? Because my five mouse buttons still work.12:22
joschwhen i open it up again to check for the controller i can take a close-up photo of the trackball sensor12:23
joschi tried to clean it and the components next to it best i could12:23
minutejosch: it is one and the same MCU. if the leds are white, then you have the atmega part.12:29
minutejosch: the leds being on is really strange though, because it means the MCU is outputting a high level on 5 gpios where it shouldn't, so maybe it got damaged or the liquid is shorting the pins12:30
minutejosch: are your batteries ok?12:31
joschyup, batteries are okay -- the liquid didn't touch anything besides the trackball components12:33
joschyeah, even after unplugging and removing the trackball sensor, and unplugging and re-plugging the usb cable to the trackball board leds keep being on12:36
joschi cannot spot any problem visually12:40
joschminute: do you have spare trackball units in stock? then i'll just put one in my cart to solve the problem more quickly than spending a lot of time into debugging this now :)12:40
minutejosch: yep12:41
joschthank you, order placed :)12:46
minutethank you, i will see to it being expedited12:46
joschsorry for causing you even more work XD12:58
minuteno, i appreciate orders! :D12:58

jjblissSo, I've been trying out HDMI output on the reform.  It works great at 1080p, but at 4K seems to be limited to about 20fps max even with a 60Hz output.  Is that the best it will do, or is there any configuration that might help out a bit?19:48
joschjjbliss: i made a similar experience. At 4k, my output was very slow. But minute said in the past that they are running a 4k setup. Maybe they can give you some tips.19:56
joschMyself i went back to 1080p because the projector i was using wasn't providing any good quality at 4k anyways :)19:57
jjblissThanks.  I'll probably be fine sticking to 1080p, but since I've got a 4k monitor it would be nice to take advantage of it.19:59

bkeysIt also refused to do power delivery I can only slow USB charge it22:46
