chartreuseYeah the 6 seem to have not been damaged, just the two that were unrecoverable. It was on the low power firmware and such and was charged before, but I guess the draw was larger than expected or something like I accidentally left the oled on during those few months00:14

joschare you using your 18650 lifepo from the reform for other projects as well? if yes, what hardware are you using? most battery holders with deep discharge protection seem to be for 18650 lithium cells only :(10:22
BoostisbetterI have the 8 that came with mine still. I got the eremit 2000 maH cells and so I haven't been using them. I do have flashlights around the house that use them though. 10:37
c-keen[m]<josch> "are you using your 18650..." <- eremit sell these too10:46
joschc-keen[m]: they sell the complete kit, yes but not a holder for my existing cells10:47
c-keen[m]josch: I soldered the plastic holder outputs to the BMS and from there to the rest10:49
c-keen[m]18650 holders are ~30 cents a piece from aliexpress10:50
joschyup, but before i do that, maybe there already exists an existing product that i can just put my 18650 lifepo in and call it a day :)10:50
joschc-keen[m]: then i guess you bought this? https://www.eremit.de/p/liion-2s-7-4v-schutzschaltung10:51
c-keen[m]yes10:52
joschsince i do not find anything else, i guess i'll go the same route10:53
joschi just need 5-7 V for another project :)10:53
joschwhich 18650 lifepo chargers are you guys using?10:53
c-keen[m]1 cell with a step up could be enough10:53

chartreuseMy "charger" is a bench power supply (doing constant current till the voltage limit is hit then constant voltage. Though I don't have spare cells to use with other stuff :P21:16
klardotshchartreuse: hah, I just recently got a NANKADF bench DC PSU that works exactly that way, to (re)balance the 280Ah lifepo cells here on the boat. seems like about the only reasonable way to work with sub-12V lifepo4 packs/cells21:33
klardotshlike nowhere could I find a dedicated 3.65V charger, the consensus seemed to be that a bench psu was more versatile for the same money, so now I just have a general purpose DC PSU to use for anything from arduino to "my literal home" scales. I'll take it.21:33

joschis anybody successfully running waydroid on the reform?22:24
joschi got it installed, the launcher opens and i can do things with my mouse22:25
joschthere are some annoying flickers but it seems to be running22:25
joschbut after installing signal, when trying to launch it, the window briefly opens and then everything closes and is gone without an error message22:25
joschis anybody running android apps using waydroid successfully on their reform?22:25
joschrunning the browser works and isn't even that slow it seems -- just signal refuses to start22:30
c-keen[m]are the google apps installed on waydroid?22:44
c-keen[m]ah it is based on lineage os, so the gapps are missing, IIRC those are a requirement for signal22:46
Boostisbetterjosch, waydroid works on the Librem 5, and it should totally work on the Reform. 22:48

JC[m]c-keen: fwiw, i use lineageos in a vm and had to install signal via apk23:18
c-keen[m]Ah ok thanks23:22
eery[m]There are versions of the runtime with gapps included23:24
eery[m]I ran into a kernel bug last time I tried it on reform, but I've used it on amd64 before23:25
bkeysGot my protected battery boards today23:35
minutebkeys: nice! pro tip: cover pins on the back with some tape23:46
minute(extra safety)23:46
bkeysYeah I am doing that and covering the battery clips as well23:51
