joschwhat do you guys use to track your UPS orders from MNT? the javascript keeps failing every once in a while on firefox (chromium seems to work fine)13:53
BoostisbetterUse brave. 13:56
BoostisbetterI don't use Firefox on the Reform at all. I do use Firefox ESR (?) on the Librem 5 though just because you kind of have to. 13:57
joschbrave is based on chromium, so no surprise it works :)14:08
c-keen[m]<josch> "what do you guys use to track..." <- Chromium worked for me. Their tracking is crap though14:24

bkeysBoostisbetter: That is the CPU it is going to have; not having a desktop is getting old for me17:02
bkeysEach core is only 1.0 GHz but I looked at my task manager and KDE takes up several threads and chromium takes up a ton so I think it will do just fine as a desktop; obviously it will suck when it comes to single threaded tasks but those aren't that common in my usage17:15
BoostisbetterSo you intend to use it as a desktop? 17:34
sknebelDespite all the threads chromium really likes single thread performance, so I'm very curious to see what you'll report about it17:37
bkeysBoostisbetter: Yes I plan on using it as a desktop, my hopes is with an SSD, RAM and dedicated GPU it will do fine17:41
bkeyssknebel: Theoretically it consumes a ton of threads on the Reform and the Reform runs chromium just fine IMO so it should run it better17:41
bkeysI had 2 honeycomb workstations from SolidRun as ARM workstations and they were really good hardware but they both died within a year and a half; I mailed them for repair and never heard back from them17:42
bkeysNever giving them my money again, although they did sell me the macciatiobin which is what got me into ARM desktops in the first place17:42
bkeysI have been on a quest for a good desktop, so I suppose this is what I settled on since it seems a very much "works out of the box" experience if the low clock speed can  be overcame which I am hedging my bet that it can17:43
bkeysIt has UEFI that lights up the screen just like commodity hardware but it's edk2 so it's all libre17:43
bkeysPower desktops are too expensive and the desktop software support is sub-par17:44

Boostisbetterinteresting. I'm really intersting in hearing how it actually works as a desktop. 21:46
bkeysYeah I am really hoping that it is a long term solution21:47
