c-keen[m]I know, the reform became my daily driver quickly00:05
vagrantcminute: works with the hdmi.dtb with the hdmi and dcss sections removed too...00:32

joschTIL: even if you don't have any problems with your trackball, it might be beneficial to remove the left and right mouse button and loosen the two screws holding the trackball in place just a tiny bit. Just a quarter counter-clockwise turn with of both screws makes my trackball movement *much* smoother than before. :)11:24
joschs/with of/of/11:24
minutejosch: good hint!11:29
+ dmorn (~dmorn@46.234.244.221)11:31
dmornGoodmorning folks!11:32
joschminute: in what way are the trackball button 3d printed? the 3d model makes them stand upright and investigating the layer direction it seems the buttons were really printed "sideways" and not lying flat?11:32
c-keen[m]<josch> "TIL: even if you don't have..." <- Also cleaning helps a lot 😄11:33
c-keen[m]josch: raisin prints need a slight angle ~30 degrees11:33
minutejosch: the buttons are printed using SLA technology, usually those are printed at an angle11:34
c-keen[m]to avoid a moire effect11:34
joschoh interesting11:34
c-keen[m]this is due to the light mask done with an lcd screen11:34
joschACTION has only ever printed using FDM11:35
c-keen[m]Your keys are on their way btw josch11:51
joschc-keen[m]: !!!11:51
josch\o/11:51
c-keen[m]printing those using FDM results in stems that will break too easily btw, I have tried this with the normal keycaps11:51
joschI've printed my own keycaps using FDM after rotating the keys so that they lay flat. The stems seem to be fine as they come out our ultimaker.11:52
joschEven without 3D printing but normal injection moulding the stems will be brittle, so nothing much that can be done there I guess.11:53
joschShort of 3D printing the keycaps in steel I guess. ;)11:54
minuteyou could do that at shapeways.com ;)11:54
minutei.e. metal prints (even gold)11:55
joschI've been looking at some German 3d printing services but I'd pay 300-400 bucks per metal keycap. XD11:55
minutehaha wow11:55
minutea jewelmaker could probably do this cheaper...11:55
minutethey could make a wax mold and cast i.e. silver into it11:55
joschDo you want a brand new reform or a new set of five metal keycaps? ;)11:56
joschc-keen[m]: thank you!! i can't wait for them to arrive :)11:56
