josch_sts-q: are you running a sysimage-v3? If yes, you can put your keyboard config for sway into ~/.config/sway/config.d/input07:36
josch_it should contain something like this: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-system-image/-/merge_requests/43/diffs#5c3f04f7f25e69e12741081ab2f34cfd181508bb_0_4807:37

svpi'm having a bit of a pickle with the keyboard, it randomly stopped working and effectively wouldve locked me out of the system if i didnt use direct serial to bring up the system via lpc, even after a firmware rebuild and reflash, programming dip then set to off and reset button pushed i keep getting the keyboard detected as an atmel dfu bootloader, i have no clue what i could try next, any ideas?22:24
+ Major_Biscuit (~MajorBisc@86-88-79-148.fixed.kpn.net)22:38
C-Keenif it is detected as atmel dfu device then it does boot into programming mode22:39
svpflipping the switch either way and resetting always puts me in programming mode though22:40
C-Keenyou may try flashing it again22:41
svptoggled the switch on, reset, as root i used flash.sh, keyboard lights up, flipped the switch off, reset, keyboard dark and dmesg reports the device in programming mode22:44
C-Keenbut if you don't reset it it keeps working until the next reset?22:44
C-KeenI wonder whether something is pulling that programming pin22:45
svpit doesnt really work in that state, i suspect it believes a control key is struck down but some presses go through22:46
svpcircle key seems unresponsive as well22:46
C-Keenhas it worked before?22:47
svpit did, i managed to login and get around the system just fine22:47
C-Keenok :/ 22:50
C-Keendoes this apply to your unit maybe: https://community.mnt.re/t/mnt-reform-first-eu-batch-do-this-safety-modification/29222:50

C-Keenmaybe minute can help with further diagnosis, I will have to leave now. I am sorry for not being able to help you out there svp 22:58
svpdoesnt seem so, i applied some insulation just in case but there's no difference in behavior...22:59
svpthank you anyway for the help, i appreciate it22:59
C-Keenwell once it has been shorted there might be permanent damage done to the board22:59
minutesvp: so the keyboard has a bug where the programming switch doesn't actually have an effect23:04
svpinteresting. i'm going to assume it ends up being not set in programming mode? and if not is there a workaround i can try23:11
minutemeh, why is kicad regressing so hard on debian... can't even look at the schematics here atm23:11
minutefortunately we have PDFs23:12
minutesvp: if you look here on page 2 https://mntre.com/reform2/handbook/_static/schem/reform2-keyboardx.pdf23:13
minutesvp: you can see that SW84 just switches PROG to ground23:13
minutesvp: and PROG is missing a pull-up to 3v323:14
minutesvp: do you have some soldering skills? then you could try bodging in a pullup resistor23:14
minutesvp: it sounds like your keyboard's RESET line is triggered sometimes or the keyboard resets intermittently (brownout?) and in that case it would always go to programming mode23:15
svpi do have some, as long as i can tap into a 3v3 pad that's not too tiny. is there any place in particular suited for this or can i use the close enough uart port's 3v3 leg?23:18
minutesvp: the uart port's leg is perfectly fine for this, yep23:19
minute_E: as Q17 is part of the main buck/boost switcher, i think it's best if you send us your reform motherboard for inspection/repair... i think it's very hard to do this remotely23:20
minute_E: if you write to support@mntre.com we'll set you up with a UPS label and stuff23:21

minuteinput-remapper-gtk/unstable 1.4.2-1 all23:24
minute  Input device button mapping tool (GUI)23:24
svpcarefully placed by hand a 10K between prog and sw84 and it restarted to a lit up keyboard. i'll have to do a proper soldering tomorrow as it's getting late, but thats a victory already23:29
minutesvp: amazing! good job23:30
minutenext keyboard rev includes this fix already23:30
svpkeys still dont seem to behave, though... i'll try a reflash after i solder the thing, then i'll report back. thank you very much for the help!23:31
