alex4ndera while back I talked to the guys at sprintek about buying their "trackpoint" modules for use on the reform.. their required volumes on purchasing aren't that crazy00:55
alex4nderthe sk7102 works with the trackpoint drivers in linux out of the box, so it's not a bunch of software work.. you just need to do the PS/2 I/O to talk to it00:55

minutealex4nder: did mouser send you a diy kit without the trackball?01:01
alex4nderminute: yah.. the screwed up their shipping, and sent half of my packages to an old address01:06
minuteoh wow ok01:06
minutesorry to hear that, btw01:06
alex4nderyah np, I got the laptop fully built and I'm just externally mousing right now01:06
alex4nderI also got the wrong keycaps, but I'll figure that out with them01:07

ex-parrotliquorice: make sure your cells are LiFePo4 chemistry not Lithium Ion08:07
ex-parrotI had success removing the protection off my LiFePo4 protected cells too, if you decide you don't want it. the protection circuit definitely makes fitting them in the battery holder a tighter squeeze08:07

linxhowdy! i just received my new batteries from nkon. Now laptop works again.11:31
linxis v3 out of beta yet?11:31
linxwhat is the preferred method to get up to date? i still have the bottom cover open so I can switch the boot order from eMMC to nVME11:32
erlethis is nice https://research.swtch.com/sparse11:39
linxcan i get some suggestions about antennas for wifi for the reform? i now have stickied on the top of the monitor from an older laptop. which is not ideal. cables hanging around the machine.11:39
joschfrom my end, sysimage-v3 status is:11:41
josch1) the latest pipeline https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-system-image/-/pipelines got "stuck" without any output and I don't know why11:41
josch2) i haven't tested eMMC boot yet11:42
josch3) I'm working on https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-system-image/-/merge_requests/4311:42
josch4) there is no tested migration script yet11:42
joschlinx: ^11:42
linxi guess i will stay with sd boot for the time being. will try building an image and see how and if that fails. and i was going over that muffin site and i would like to know if you found some self hosting software like that you've been looking for. josch 11:46
joschlinx: for muffin stuff, just send me a /query as that's OT here11:47
joschlinx: for sysimage-v3 stuff, just message me here or drop me a mail josch@debian.org or file an issue on source.mnt.re if you need assistance :)11:47
linxwill do. since i'm at work and not have the reform with me i'll try and build the image using a x86 machine and see how that goes. after it's built i just dd to the sd card and boot off of it right? i'll ptobably need to grab my dotfiles from the nvme beforehand11:49
joschlinx: yes, just run the mkimage.sh script in the reform2 directory. I also build it on x86_64.11:53
linxthanks let's see how that goes11:58
