Boostisbetterso because the CPU in the Reform is kind of a mobile cpu to begin with, does it really matter if we leave it on all the time? 17:27
minuteBoostisbetter: it can be on all the time i guess18:27
eeryelectronic/radio question: could running a wifi card with no antenna cause any damage long term? I don't think so, but want a second opinion18:36
- oomono (QUIT: Quit: Connection closed for inactivity) (uid328183@id-328183.tinside.irccloud.com)19:32
BoostisbetterI really doubt it. The contact for the card face up and cannot make contact with anything else on the mainboard. The only consequence you should experience is poor signal reception strength. It should be nearly non-exsistent. 19:38
eeryYeah, I just didn't know if maybe the lack of the antenna would cause a difference in the circuit that'd burn out a passive component over time19:52
eeryIt's actually been working alright haha, I've been using my phone as a makeshift repeater and just ... holding it directly under the card19:53
eeryI unexpectedly got my package the evening before I flew internationally so I didn't have an antenna ready, or a proper card :P scavenged an ath5k for peak 2000s retro wifi19:55
BoostisbetterI got a wifi card with mine as well. plugged in the antenna cables with the acryllic mount and reception has been good fore me. I think my wifi mesh network is just really strong. At work I use my phone as a hotspot, and so I have never had a signal strength issue. 19:57
