kfxok.  the end result is, the keyboard backlights on the ` and 1-5 keys come on dimmer when the keyboard is plugged in.  any attempt to control brightness results in all backlighting shutting off except behind the letters w through p.  the keyboard retains a delightful peaberry scent; medium roasted.10:21
kfxotherwise the thing works fine10:21

Boostisbettermntmn: just read here: https://www.inputmag.com/reviews/mnt-reform-review-your-diy-laptop-fantasy-is-here-at-last that a reform mouse IS something that MNT is looking into. Most excellent. I never would have assumed at the beginning of my time with the Reform that I would be so interested in MNT's product line up. But the camera, and the Pocket Reform are somethings that are very high up on my wa11:59

mntmnjosch: regarding audio, sometimes wm8960 fails to reset and bind. here's a workaround: https://community.mnt.re/t/wm8960-fix-without-reboot/66015:27
mntmnjosch: debian repo refreshed and !38 merged: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-system-image/-/jobs/63415:30
mntmnBoostisbetter: yes we have a working dev version of the camera15:31

mntmnbluerise: sorry for lazy question, do you know if RK3566 requires any blobs?16:02
bluerisehey16:05
blueriselet me think...16:06
blueriseso I think right now not everything is 'open sourced', but that's typical. but the RK3399 for instance can be built fully from ATF and U-Boot sources, and I'm sure it'll soon be similar for RK356x as well16:06
blueriseit's just the typical 'new SoC' problem16:07
bluerisebut it's just another Rockchip variant, so nothing 'special'16:07
blueriseiirc for RK3399 the biggest step was adding support for the DDR controller. the DDR configuration is now stored in some device tree, and the driver parses it and sets up that config16:08
bluerisewhy?16:08
blueriseI have 2 RK356x CM4 modules in front of me ;)16:08
joschmntmn: Thank you! The CI job failed and here is the fix: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-system-image/-/merge_requests/3916:14
joschmntmn: thanks, I indeed had "wm8960 2-001a: Failed to issue reset" in my dmesg and after sending 2-001a to /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/wm8960/bind I now have /sys/devices/platform/sound/sound/card0/id available -- maybe this should be done after boot automatically?16:24
mntmnjosch: yep, i already put that in reform-hw-setup one-shot service, not sure if you have that installed16:50
blueriseSo far the SOQuartz seems to be a better module than the Radxa CM316:58
blueriseSOQuartz seemed to be designed around 'well, the CM4 pinout is crap, but we have to live with it'16:59
blueriseCouldn't get any output when connecting the Radxa CM3 to a 'normal' CM4 board16:59
mntmnbluerise: ohh good to know17:00
mntmnjosch: i just set up an hourly cronjob to refresh reform-debian-repo17:01
mntmn(hope it works ^^)17:01
bluerisemntmn: yeah, I feel like Pine64 have made a better job 'adjusting' to the CM4 pinout17:01
blueriseand Radxa has an 'interesting' use of the pinout17:01
blueriseand then came up with a third connector...17:02
blueriseI shouldn't complain because I got the Radxa CM3 as a donation from them17:02
bluerise*but* that's just my experience17:03

joschaha, found it: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-system-image/-/commit/5fbe6c1fa2fbd7092a6ac978e49b0c7b135a351017:47
joschmntmn: I diffed the whole reform-tools contents from your sysimage-v3 branch before you merged my stuff (the one big commit) and only found one other bit that got lost. Fixed here: https://source.mnt.re/reform/reform-tools/-/merge_requests/218:02

kfxmntmn: I have an RK3566 device.  it came with ddr timing blobs and a dtb with no source.18:23
blueriseI have three Rk356x boards with UEFI :D18:40
bluerisehttps://github.com/jaredmcneill/quartz64_uefi18:41
bluerise:)18:41
kfxmy device shares an android sdk with that one, which is where I got the blobs18:54

bluerisemntmn: I think not23:52
bluerisethat said, right now it is a blob. but that was also the case when rk3399 was released initially, and then it was open sourced23:58
