bluerise | mntmn: I wonder what's all needed for the bridge to get sync | 00:25 |
---|---|---|
bluerise | I'm executing the commands that the one on your discussion thread did | 00:25 |
bluerise | But PLL isn't locking | 00:26 |
bluerise | and link isn't training | 00:26 |
bluerise | does that mean the mipi dphy isn't configured? hmm | 00:27 |
bluerise | sigh, maybe I should build a RK3399 SoM :P | 00:31 |

mntmn | bluerise: come on! | 01:02 |
mntmn | bluerise: the person in the thread uses the nwl dsi and dphy driver that is in uboot, yes | 01:03 |
mntmn | those drivers are pretty smol | 01:03 |
mntmn | just a bunch of register pokes... | 01:03 |

chartreuse | Just migrated over to nvme and that was really fast and painless | 01:29 |
chartreuse | ADATA XPG SX8200 nvme drive seems to be working just fine with the reform. I haven't tested any power saving modes or such just yet. | 01:32 |
mntmn | cool! i should make a list | 01:38 |
chartreuse | APSTE is enabled by default as well so that should be working for power savings. Gotta look into how to measure power draw | 01:39 |
mntmn | you can see total system current on battery in the oled status screen. idk if the nvme itself can show you its power use | 01:40 |
chartreuse | hexchat is being a bit glitchy, so I guess I need to look into xwayland or such to see what's going on. Or just swap over to irssi or such | 01:41 |
chartreuse | Right now just sitting around in hexchat I'm drawing 0.29A | 01:42 |
chartreuse | Has anyone tried lubricating the track ball? Tempted to take it apart and lubricate it with some teflon dry lubricant | 02:02 |
- alex4nder (QUIT: Ping timeout: 258 seconds) (~alexander@74.51.16.139) | 02:23 | |
chartreuse | Well I gave lubricating it a try sprayed the dry lube onto a q-tip and applied to the plastic being careful not to go near the sensor. Maybe helped a little bit but not all that much. Most of the scratchiness is likely just the FDM layer lines. | 04:11 |
chartreuse | Wonder if it's possible to get those teflon(?) balls or such that normal trackballs use and somehow embed them so that the ball isn't resting on the shell directly | 04:12 |
chartreuse | I think it did help a bit though, and the carrier solvent didn't have an effect on the plastic before it evaporated off | 04:14 |
swivel | delrin is known to be self-lubricating, could be a good ball material | 05:33 |
chartreuse | I think the ball material itself is fine, it's going to mainly be the FDM printed socket and retaining ring | 05:50 |

chartreuse | Yeah I spotted that looking through the forums again. I'm tempted by it. I'll probably order some of those 1.5mm balls | 12:15 |

darth-cheney | hey all, where can I find the most up to date instructions for migrating to the internal ssd? | 15:04 |
wagga | I would like to promote a cloned snapshot. man zfs(8) says that the file system must have the 'mount' and 'promote' ability. The file system does have the canmount property set to YES, but I do not see a similar property for promote . Are abilities something different than properties? Or does the lack of such a property indicate that file system | 15:21 |
wagga | does not have the promote ability? | 15:21 |
wagga | After further reading, I think the promote ability is referring to permissions. | 15:29 |
wagga | I checked if my filesystem has the promote permission, but zfs allow tank/root returns no output at all. I just decided to try to promote tank/cloneroot and it worked. So I guess it has the promote ability, or permission. | 15:30 |

bluerise | mntmn: is jtag pin 1 on the side to the som, or on the side to the ethernet? | 21:05 |
mntmn | bluerise: currently in a bus, you can check with kicad | 21:21 |
bluerise | pin1 is to the outer side/ethernet (says kicad) | 21:31 |
bluerise | somehow I can't use jtag.. | 21:37 |
bluerise | debug port timeout | 21:37 |
bluerise | oh, don't tell me I need to switch resistors or so for it to work | 21:44 |

+ wagga (~wagga@node-1w7jra22ildhxpilxbb9o7gyy.ipv6.telus.net) | 21:50 | |
bluerise | from what I can tell, the SoM shares some Ethernet stuff with the jtag pins | 21:51 |
bluerise | and the jtag pins are not connected, unless you move some 0R | 21:51 |
bluerise | so the last hour was rather useless | 21:52 |
bluerise | apart from updating my lauterbach toolchain | 21:53 |
mntmn | hmm ja unfortunately they shared some pins on the som | 21:57 |
mntmn | a bit silly. | 21:57 |
bluerise | yes | 21:58 |
mntmn | but afaik i made it so that you can do resistor stuff on the mainboard to make it work theoretically | 21:58 |
mntmn | would be really interesting for me to see if that works! | 21:58 |
mntmn | btw i got a mail yesterday from rbz, they got the ls1028a to boot stuff from sd and output to serial. but now they have to do the ddr4 calibration. | 21:59 |
bluerise | nice | 21:59 |
bluerise | if you look at the Nitrogen 8M SoM schematics, you'll see on page 8 how the jtag is connected | 21:59 |
bluerise | RN2 says "NS", RN1 says 0R CAY | 22:00 |
bluerise | no idea what it means, but NS is probably not soldered? | 22:00 |
mntmn | i darkly remember something. i will check in a few minutes, just came home | 22:01 |
bluerise | yeah no worries | 22:05 |
bluerise | screwed it back up together, guess I'll have to go pack to trying the printf-way | 22:05 |
