bluerisemntmn: I wonder what's all needed for the bridge to get sync00:25
blueriseI'm executing the commands that the one on your discussion thread did00:25
blueriseBut PLL isn't locking00:26
blueriseand link isn't training00:26
bluerisedoes that mean the mipi dphy isn't configured? hmm00:27
bluerisesigh, maybe I should build a RK3399 SoM :P00:31
+ chartreuse (~chartreus@S0106f0f249dfd9c3.cg.shawcable.net)00:38
mntmnbluerise: come on!01:02
mntmnbluerise: the person in the thread uses the nwl dsi and dphy driver that is in uboot, yes01:03
mntmnthose drivers are pretty smol01:03
mntmnjust a bunch of register pokes...01:03

+ chartreuse (~chartreus@S0106f0f249dfd9c3.cg.shawcable.net)01:29
chartreuseJust migrated over to nvme and that was really fast and painless01:29
chartreuseADATA XPG SX8200 nvme drive seems to be working just fine with the reform. I haven't tested any power saving modes or such just yet.01:32
mntmncool! i should make a list01:38
chartreuseAPSTE is enabled by default as well so that should be working for power savings. Gotta look into how to measure power draw01:39
mntmnyou can see total system current on battery in the oled status screen. idk if the nvme itself can show you its power use01:40
chartreusehexchat is being a bit glitchy, so I guess I need to look into xwayland or such to see what's going on. Or just swap over to irssi or such01:41
chartreuseRight now just sitting around in hexchat I'm drawing 0.29A01:42
chartreuseHas anyone tried lubricating the track ball? Tempted to take it apart and lubricate it with some teflon dry lubricant02:02
- alex4nder (QUIT: Ping timeout: 258 seconds) (~alexander@74.51.16.139)02:23
chartreuseWell I gave lubricating it a try sprayed the dry lube onto a q-tip and applied to the plastic being careful not to go near the sensor. Maybe helped a little bit but not all that much. Most of the scratchiness is likely just the FDM layer lines.04:11
chartreuseWonder if it's possible to get those teflon(?) balls or such that normal trackballs use and somehow embed them so that the ball isn't resting on the shell directly04:12
chartreuseI think it did help a bit though, and the carrier solvent didn't have an effect on the plastic before it evaporated off04:14
swiveldelrin is known to be self-lubricating, could be a good ball material05:33
chartreuseI think the ball material itself is fine, it's going to mainly be the FDM printed socket and retaining ring05:50

mntmnchartreuse: there is a mod on community.mnt.re where someone used tiny steel ball bearings. you should check it out!11:10

swivelnice11:40
chartreuseYeah I spotted that looking through the forums again. I'm tempted by it. I'll probably order some of those 1.5mm balls12:15
chartreuseLooks like a good mod, since I like having a trackball, though it's not quite as smooth as I'd like with this FDM holder12:17

darth-cheneyhey all, where can I find the most up to date instructions for migrating to the internal ssd?15:04
waggaI would like to promote a cloned snapshot. man zfs(8) says that the file system must have the 'mount' and 'promote' ability. The file system does have the canmount property set to YES, but I do not see a similar property for promote . Are abilities something different than properties? Or does the lack of such a property indicate that file system15:21
waggadoes not have the promote ability?15:21
waggaAfter further reading, I think the promote ability is referring to permissions. 15:29
waggaI checked if my filesystem has the promote permission, but zfs allow tank/root returns no output at all. I just decided to try to promote tank/cloneroot and it worked. So I guess it has the promote ability, or permission.15:30

waggaahh, sorry, all those messages were meant for #zfsonlinux - LOL!16:48
waggaI ordered my reform by the way. Super excited.16:48
waggaIt is going to replace my alenware m17 r4. So, I will be loosing a bit of RAM and some cores :-P  Hopefully it won't take too long for additional RAM to become available.16:51

bluerisemntmn: is jtag pin 1 on the side to the som, or on the side to the ethernet?21:05
mntmnbluerise: currently in a bus, you can check with kicad21:21
bluerisepin1 is to the outer side/ethernet (says kicad)21:31
bluerisesomehow I can't use jtag..21:37
bluerisedebug port timeout21:37
blueriseoh, don't tell me I need to switch resistors or so for it to work21:44
mntmnbluerise: i have never tested it21:50
+ wagga (~wagga@node-1w7jra22ildhxpilxbb9o7gyy.ipv6.telus.net)21:50
bluerisefrom what I can tell, the SoM shares some Ethernet stuff with the jtag pins21:51
blueriseand the jtag pins are not connected, unless you move some 0R21:51
blueriseso the last hour was rather useless21:52
blueriseapart from updating my lauterbach toolchain21:53
mntmnhmm ja unfortunately they shared some pins on the som21:57
mntmna bit silly.21:57
blueriseyes21:58
mntmnbut afaik i made it so that you can do resistor stuff on the mainboard to make it work theoretically21:58
mntmnwould be really interesting for me to see if that works!21:58
mntmnbtw i got a mail yesterday from rbz, they got the ls1028a to boot stuff from sd and output to serial. but now they have to do the ddr4 calibration.21:59
bluerisenice21:59
blueriseif you look at the Nitrogen 8M SoM schematics, you'll see on page 8 how the jtag is connected21:59
blueriseRN2 says "NS", RN1 says 0R CAY22:00
blueriseno idea what it means, but NS is probably not soldered?22:00
mntmni darkly remember something. i will check in a few minutes, just came home22:01
blueriseyeah no worries22:05
bluerisescrewed it back up together, guess I'll have to go pack to trying the printf-way22:05

mntmnwell, we selected it, but mainly because nobody else agreed to publish schematics to their imx8m som22:33
mntmnbluerise: haha22:33
mntmnalso boundary did some imx6 reference design(s) iirc22:33
blueriseSolidRun have afaik, but I'm not sure you'd like the SoM connector22:34
