mntmnit appears that PPP is missing in the kernel too, i tripped over this yesterday when trying to use an LTE-M module13:20

mntmni have discovered why debian's chromium is significanly slower than the one from snap on reform: it can't use ANGLE or GLES, it only uses desktop GL and uses one-copy instead of zero-copy. chromium --use-angle=gles --use-gl=angle crashes, as does chromium --use-angle=gles-egl --use-gl=angle. the snap chromium 93 (executed outside of snap, just installed using it) successfully uses ANGLE with15:14
mntmnOpenGL ES on the same system.15:14

eeryis OpenGL ES much faster on the etnaviv drivers?16:48
XgFeery: unless memory fails me, they don't do OpenGL, just ES16:49
mntmnXgF: they do OpenGL 2.116:50
XgFHmm, I thought when I tried to create an OpenGL context I got software, but I must be misremembering16:50
mntmneery: this cannot be generalized, i think the special sauce that makes it faster is ANGLE via GLES vs directly going to desktop GL16:50
mntmnXgF: yes, i know for sure.16:51

eeryaah okay, cool that it's faster that way17:18
eeryXgF: yeah I've got an imx.6 board and have gotten regular opengl to work with the FOSS drivers, it's improved a lot in recent years so you may have tried it when it was borked17:19
mntmnyeah, the question is now how do i ship this version without being responsible for updating it17:19
eeryor just misconfigured, it's not always obvious how to get it working17:19
