indefini[m]I just got the package (Japan) and I paid around 9000yen ~62euros04:25
ex-parrotnice04:25
ex-parrotmine is still in transit, it decided to go via the US anyway04:25
indefini[m]oh04:26
ex-parrotI am starting work again on Monday04:26
ex-parrotestimated delivery currently Tuesday04:27
ex-parrotthe timing is perfect :P04:27
indefini[m]yeah I want to stop working and build this thing :)04:30

indefini[m]I broke the side cover while tightening the screw :)07:41
Asmadeusindefini[m]: I'm jealous! It takes an extra day all the way to hokkaido :D07:41
indefini[m]be careful07:41
indefini[m]oh07:41
indefini[m]then I plug the batteries and I got magic smoke :/07:41
Asmadeusoh, that must have had a short somewhere... :/07:42
indefini[m]never been to hokkaido07:42
indefini[m]I am sure I double check the batteries but anyway I removed the batteries07:42
indefini[m]the pcb trace burned and I fixed it and now it runs ok07:43
indefini[m]but I must be careful if my fix is bad, I can make a fire without plugging it on :/07:44
indefini[m]the manual explications are ok but I think it could explain a little more like the oled screen cable must be twisted -> this is mentioned later in the manual but not when you plug it07:46
indefini[m]also there is an acrylic plate where you can fix the wifi antenna, but the the plate is not really fixed to anything?07:47
indefini[m]and I have some screws and and stuff left not mentioned in the manual, not sure what they're for07:49
scopsThe plate is fixed by connectors nearby (i can make a photo) and the screws are backups, they also included in the fully assembled package07:53
indefini[m]scops: the plate is put above the connectors, but it is not really fixed and it moves a little bit. yes some of the screws might be backup for stuff not used while building the kit07:57
scopsYeah :) 07:57
+ odnes (~odnes@31-152-202-58.pat.amp.cosmote.net)09:16
Asmadeusoh, it actually got here just now09:24

indefini[m]it doesnt suspend when you close the lid (at least on sway), is there any command to suspend it?09:58
scopsyes but it never really worked well for me... the wakeup at least... it often just didnt wake up anymore.10:10
scopsthere is a keycombo for it... (look at sway config)10:10
mntmnindefini[m]: the leftover screws are just backups in case you need them10:30
mntmnindefini[m]: it should be easy to replicate the side covers locally, in a makerspace with a lasercutter or online lasercutting service10:30
mntmnin10:30
mntmnindefini[m]: magic smoke is strange though, did you plug one the wrong way around? how did that happen?10:31
mntmnscops: btw i sent out your module last night via packstation10:35
scopsThanks a lot! :)10:35

ex-parrotReform has left Sydney this evening, that means it’ll be in Auckland tomorrow and maybe here by Friday….10:53
ex-parrotAssuming the current COVID problems here don’t slow it down 10:53
indefini[m]mntmn: but there are screws I didn't use like a 14mm and some little black plastic tubes ( I dont know how to call them :) )11:20
indefini[m]yeah the side cover shouldn't be a problem11:21
indefini[m]I put the batteries in place and then plug the cable, and then the batteries cables were in the way so I try to put them between the batteries (like the picture)11:22
indefini[m]and then it happened so I removed everything11:22
indefini[m]it was the right battery pack, the trace in the middle top burned11:23
mntmnindefini[m]: as i said these are spare parts11:27
mntmnindefini[m]: are you able to upload some photos of the battery board damage?11:28
indefini[m]mntmn: maybe tomorrow? or tonight very late for you :)11:33
mntmnindefini[m]: at any point! you can also make a post with them on community.mnt.re if you want11:33
indefini[m]in gnome you can set the backlight to 0 and then the screen is black11:33
mntmnindefini[m]: oops11:34
mntmnindefini[m]: you can shine a fladhlight into the screen ;) (for real)11:35
mntmnindefini[m]: btw sway is the most tested (by me) desktop11:36
indefini[m]ahaha true 11:36
mntmnbut it's tiling11:36
+ Neelfyn (uid180106@id-180106.stonehaven.irccloud.com)11:36
indefini[m]yes I like tiling but not used to sway yet11:36
indefini[m]is there a close lid sensor?11:37
+ mjw (~mjw_@2001:1c06:2487:f800:9e5c:8eff:fe8f:a440)11:42
scops(... try out wayfire indefini  x) if you dont want to use sway... )11:56
indefini[m]well nothing against sway, I just trying gnome to see how it was :) I will try wayfire too12:01
scopsif you need help with the config just ask... ah and dont use the bundled config tool... :)12:08

indefini[m]I usually use enlightenment, awesome but I like to test new stuff12:21
mntmnindefini[m]: there is no lid sensor. sleep/wake is not reliable yet 12:25
+ erlehmann (~erle@dynamic-046-114-037-165.46.114.pool.telefonica.de)12:28

emerymntmn: should the current lpc-fw firmware work with the beta boards?12:55
mntmnemery: yes, you just need to set the right board revision in 1 define at the top12:56
mntmnemery: and update your keyboard fw also 12:56
mntmnemery: oh also you should do the resistor fix12:56
mntmnemery: if you haven't done it... it will make your charging better12:57
mntmnemery: the one described here https://community.mnt.re/t/mnt-reform-r-2-motherboard-update-2021-04-19/17712:57
emeryyea, my board doesn't charge at all again12:57
mntmnemery: >:|13:09
emeryhow do I find my board rev and where do I set the define?13:11
mntmnemery: the board rev is written on the board13:13
mntmnemery: it's probably 20D-313:14
emery20D-413:14
mntmnemery: ok cool so open src/boards/reform2/board_reform2.c13:15
mntmnemery: and look around line 4013:15
emeryI know that REFORM_MBREV_R2 doesn't work13:17
mntmnemery: you want to put REFORM_MBREV_D4 there13:18
mntmnemery: actually i'm not sure if you can do the resistor change on that board. i would need to look into that. but it doesn't matter for the FW right now13:19
emerymntmn: yea, the gap between R53 and R172 is a bit wider for me13:20
mntmnemery: yes also i think on that board the resistors might be different13:21
mntmni think it can definitely be modded, but i only have D-3 schematics here right now13:22
mntmnah found d-413:24
mntmnfor future reference http://dump.mntmn.com/reform2-d4-allinone-a3.pdf13:25
mntmnemery: the same fix can be done on D-4, the difference is just that CHG_RNG does not go through a MOSFET on D-4 but connects directly to the resistor 33013:26
emeryok, I'll reflash later today13:35
