jackhillIs this a correct handbook link? https://mntmn.com/reform/handbook/motherboard/index.html#audio All the PDF seen to be 40407:01
chartreuseReminds me, not sure how your logistics work mntmn, but would it be possible to buy a printed handbook and have it shipped along with a DIY kit that hasn't been shipped yet?07:26

scopshmmm mntmn any idea whats wrong? the reform operated normal... i turned off the display brightness, ~30min i wanted to turn it back on but no response... i rebooted... nothing. i shut down, booted again, keyboard is fine, 2 white leds on the board are on, lan leds on... but nothing on the screen20:00
- natalie (QUIT: Read error: Connection reset by peer) (~natalie@user/natalie)20:02
+ natalie (~natalie@user/natalie)20:02
mntmnscops: maybe the brightness is still at zero?20:03
scopshow can i turn it one without booting till the os is booted up?20:04
scopss/one/on20:04
mntmnscops: hmm actually it should be normal brightness while the kernel boots 20:04
scopsyes... but it doesnt20:04
mntmnscops: do you have another sd card you could flash the stock image to?20:05
mntmnfor checking if it's a software problem20:05
scopsi boot from emmc/nvme atm20:05
mntmndo you have an UART to USB adapter?20:06
scopsno :(20:06
mntmnyou should get one!20:06
mntmnthen yo can debug without a display20:06
mntmnand try to switch to SD card and see if you can boot from it incl display20:07
mntmnif you boot from SD card you can also enable HDMI output using another computer20:08
scopsyeah... but switchig is not very userfriendly... x.x because of the spacers... very fiddly20:08
mntmnby copying over the DTB for dual display20:08
mntmnwell, you wanted to know how to debug your problem, or not20:08
scopsyes yes... just... not a nice time for such a problem on the friday evening... sorry ^^20:08
mntmnyou can also order a UART to USB adapter20:08
scopsyes... i will do it...20:09
scopsi will first try something like pulling out the batteries, reset button... y.y20:10
mntmnwhy20:10
mntmnthis won't help20:10
mntmnor actually, yeah a full power cycle ~could~ maybe help20:10
scopshmmm if i wait till i turn it on the lan leds turn on20:11
scopsif i just "reboot" they doesnt20:11
mntmnwell, if you want to get to the bottom of the problem you have to do one of the 2 things i suggested20:11
scopsyeah ...20:11
scopsdoes it matter which uart/usb i buy?20:13
swivelif this is appropriate, adafruit has been a consistently excellent vendor in my experience fyi https://www.adafruit.com/product/95420:13
mntmnscops: you're in germany, or?20:14
scopsyes20:14
mntmnscops: i would probably buy something like this https://www.welectron.com/USB-Seriell-Adaptor-PL2303TA-USB-Serial-Adaptor-Cable20:18
mntmnbut don't connect the red wire20:18
mntmnonly white, green and black20:18
scopsordered... next week i can check if i can see something.. x.x20:25
mntmnscops: you could also toggle the switch...20:26
scopsyeah... maybe tomorrow... long workday ;)20:26
scops(and covid vaccination)20:27
mntmnnice!20:28
mntmnget some rest ^^20:29
scopsthats what i want todo... i compiled seamonkey till i turned off the screen. some patches where needed ... but hey :)20:30

mntmnscops: looks interesting. how was the speed?20:35
scopsHadnt the chance to test it.20:36
scopsThat was what i wanted to do when i tried to turn the screen on20:36
mntmnhmm yeah! sorry to hear20:37
mntmni'm really happy about the speed of chromium 93 btw20:37

scopsmntmn: what was your compileboard again? i talk to a dev of seamonkey atm and he is looking for a good compile computer for arm64 builds of it23:40
mntmnscops: ah, solidrun honeycomb23:41
mntmnscops: with lx2160a23:41
scopsthx23:41

blueriseit's a great machine23:46
mntmnAsmadeus: i'm digging in the ffmpeg v4l2_request stuff again. ffmpeg has an option -hwaccels but this curiously lists only "drm".23:55
mntmnas the patch defines a "const AVHWAccel ff_h264_v4l2request_hwaccel" with name "h264_v4l2request" i would expect this to show up, but it doesn't23:56
