artfwomntmn, i accidently broke one of the acrylic side panels, will you be providing replacements in the shop?16:12

artfwocool, looking forward :)16:43

devylmntmn:  are metal panels (also for the bottom) also planed to add in the shop in the near future? :)16:44
mntmnfor side yes, bottom i don't think, we don't have the cash to preproduce them16:46
devyl(in general somebody - i'm not the right one i think - a "rugged version" of the body would be awesome xD)16:46
devyl(something like ip68 or better xD)16:46
artfwoi would love metal bottom eventually, but i also kinda like the acrylic bottom, it makes Reform literally a transparent computer :)16:47
devylindeed :) i also like it, but i have a toughbook in by cupboard; if the reform would be as robust as this thing... yeah xD that would be awesome... coding on the reform in the mud xD16:48
devyl... or more likely in the bathtub16:49
devylx)16:49
artfwoyeah, developing wetware16:49
devylx)16:51
devylbut for real; a device should be useable where and how "i" want to use it. most devices aren't suitable to work in wet environments or just outside the office. so it would be really nice (maybe for the "mini reform"?) to make devices that are somewhat ruggend (and the reform is indeed a relatively rugged devices with all the metal). But for example, the keyboard or the display hinges are not sealed. so, dust, hairs,... can find16:56
devyltheir way to the inside.16:56
devyl-n16:56
doppleryeah… that'd be a full redesign and a lot of work, but handy nonetheless17:04
dopplera device like that would be an especially good candidate for an e-paper display option, too, IMO17:05
dopplerI imagine, FWIW, that as long as Reform remains fanless dust and hairs will be much less of an issue than w/ other laptops, not that they'd present too much of a functional issue in a fanless system anyway17:09
dopplerhas anyone figured out submersible mechanical keyboards yet?17:10
artfwoany should be fine, if sealed in a hermetic plastic bag :)17:11
dopplerhehe yep17:14

sknebelhave a non-electric mech part and optical or magnet sensing through the plate?17:26
dopplersure, the electrical part is easy; it's keeping water out of the mechanism that's the challenge here17:35

sknebelif the mechanism doesn't have an electric parts there is no need to keep water out of it?18:22
