+ jpo (~jpo@unaffiliated/jpo)03:19
jpojust saw your update on crowdsupply - the design is much more interesting to me now :)03:25
jpospecifically: better SoC (s/mx6/mx8/ => hw virt, also GPU++), thinner, better display, considering s/trackball/trackpad/, standard batteries, future-proof case design, etc. (roughly in that order)03:30
jpoexciting stuff :)03:31
jpoACTION just signed up for updates on the crowdsupply campaign03:32
jpoand... not to be that bikeshed guy with superficial comments, but the case design renderings as of your update make me slightly concerned about it getting snagged on things due to the overhanging portion, and the hard sharp edges and corners on the bottom don't look like they'd be comfortable for extended use on a lap03:44
jpothat said, i'm confident that you'll figure out whatever's best - and if our preferences differ, well, it seems hackable enough :D03:48

ryoubamntmn: that reflow rig shown in the video looks like it might be DIY ... any more info on that?13:44
mntmnryouba: you mean ReflowR probably13:48
mntmnit’s https://www.tindie.com/products/LafrasH/modern-electronics-reflowr/13:48
mntmnbut we have recently migrated to a puhui t-962c13:49
mntmnbecause refowr can’t really handle bigger boards13:50
ryoubamntmn: i meant the device visible around 0:26 in https://mntmn.com/media/videos/reform-beta-hand-assembly.mp4 ... looks like that might be the ReflowR you just posted, though, yes. and i'm currently using an old halogen-floodlight-become-reflow-oven (basically the device from https://github.com/dasaki/nanoReflowController) so your ReflowR would be a gigantic step forward.14:08
ryoubawow ... used to be US$150 ... shame it's no longer available14:10
ryoubabut out of curiosity, what size are your updated PCBs if they required what basically amounts to a Din A3 oven?14:11
andrej235ryouba: it is not for reform but another project. the zz9000 amiga card14:21
andrej235https://shop.mntmn.com/products/zz9000-for-amiga-preorder14:21
andrej235https://twitter.com/mntmn/status/112875643405596262414:22
mntmncorrect, but we’ll use it for reform2 prototypes as well because it will heat the solderpaste better. you can use a smaller IR oven of course. in the big one you can also reflow several boards at once.14:23
ryoubawow my amiga-loving friends will love that :D14:36
ryoubahmm that looks like there's a lot of *moving* air ... *drools at the pics in envy*14:37
