bkeys | Any updates on when the Reform is gonna get released? | 17:51 |
---|---|---|
mntmn | bkeys: nope. i did do a calculation though. waiting for feedback from crowdsupply team. | 17:53 |
mntmn | also, the redesign is progressing | 17:53 |
mntmn | i'm now starting with the keyboard redesign | 17:53 |
mntmn | (if anyone here has ~super important~ input on that, this is your chance) | 17:53 |
bkeys | An ANSI keyboard option would be nice | 17:56 |
mntmn | *googles ansi keyboard* | 17:59 |
mntmn | ah, it's mostly about the return key shape? | 17:59 |
mntmn | and \ | | 18:00 |
bkeys | That sounds about right | 18:02 |
+ erlehmann (~erlehmann@2001:16b8:48bb:4e00:c2a8:9fbc:241f:ba46) | 18:06 | |
mntmn | ok, the L shape of return will be removed anyway. in general there will be less distinct key shapes in favor of more 1x1 and 2x1 (ish) keycaps, to reduce the number of special shapes and get rid of stabilizer wires if possible | 18:07 |
bkeys | That'd be nice | 18:09 |
- erlehmann (QUIT: Quit: Leaving) (~erlehmann@2001:16b8:48bb:4e00:c2a8:9fbc:241f:ba46) | 18:18 | |
rvense | on my custom keyboard, instead of a spacebar, i have two 2x1 (or maybe it's 2.5x1) keys that both work as space bars, separated by a 1x1 which ends up under my right thumb that acts as a modifier. have mouse movements on the bottom row, page up/down and scrollwheel on the home row. it's very nice. | 19:09 |
mntmn | cool rvense | 19:23 |
mntmn | the spacebar on reform is already split in 3, but i plan to split it further | 19:23 |
rvense | hm - at some point i think it stops being a spacebar :) | 19:26 |
mntmn | sure :D | 19:26 |
mntmn | i mean 2x2x1 sounds good | 19:27 |
bkeys | https://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/supercoder_2000_binary_keyboard.jpg | 19:34 |
bkeys | mntmn: Use this layout pls | 19:34 |
mntmn | brilliant, that will lower the complexity | 19:40 |
