my_pc_is_amiga | I'm finally got around to updating the ROMs to 3.2.1 on an A4000 with a A3660 --- I know there is 3.2.2 out there but don't have a quick way of burning new ones at the moment. With the A3660 and 1.13 of ZZ9000, I get "Bad" state for memory in expansion check of early boot menu. The computer won't boot fully. When I put back the A3640, all | 20:10 |
---|---|---|
my_pc_is_amiga | is okay and memory shows up. This is without no other zorro card and just zz9000. I tried bottom 3 slots and all same issue... | 20:10 |
my_pc_is_amiga | I'll try 1.12.1 next without zorro ram... | 20:11 |
apolkosnik[m] | You mean that you have BOOT.BIN on that micro SD updated to 1.13 and still getting the memory errors? | 20:19 |
apolkosnik[m] | Does ZZTop show 1.13? | 20:20 |
apolkosnik[m] | When it eventually boots up? | 20:21 |
apolkosnik[m] | Just curious, as 1.13 fixed it all for me | 20:21 |
my_pc_is_amiga | yes -- the boot.bin is 1.13 | 20:25 |
my_pc_is_amiga | I haven't been able to boot fully to run zztop....1.12.1 with zorro ram same issue and then without zorro for 1.12 it gurus with 8000 0004. | 20:27 |
my_pc_is_amiga | let me try again 1.13 | 20:27 |
my_pc_is_amiga | what kickstart ROMs are you using? | 20:27 |
apolkosnik[m] | 3.2.2 | 20:28 |
my_pc_is_amiga | ah okay...I'm using 3.2.1 ....also sorry for ZZTOP it is 1.13 when I boot okay with the A3640 | 20:30 |
apolkosnik[m] | I could try A3640 rev 3.0, 3.1 with ec040, 040 or with an 060 adapter | 20:31 |
my_pc_is_amiga | maybe I need to update my ROMs to 3.2.2...I tried again 1.13 and still same issue --the "Expansion Board Diagnostic" screen comes up with red screen and show by for memory of 256MB....continue doesn't do anything except keep screen fully red.... | 20:37 |
apolkosnik[m] | Maybe try re-seating the card or using a different slot | 20:39 |
apolkosnik[m] | The latest fw fixed these things for me on both A3000 and A4000 | 20:40 |
apolkosnik[m] | Is your ZZ9000 "fixed" or revision 3? | 20:42 |
my_pc_is_amiga | it is a rev2 that is fixed | 20:43 |
my_pc_is_amiga | i tried the lower 3 slots but still same issue | 20:43 |
apolkosnik[m] | No other cards? | 20:44 |
my_pc_is_amiga | yes no other cards | 20:47 |
apolkosnik[m] | I've had 40.68 Kickstart handy and dropped in a3640 with ec040 | 20:50 |
my_pc_is_amiga | ok | 20:53 |
apolkosnik[m] | Once the hdd reads it goes into a bootloop, but that's unrelated. It takes a long time to get into the boot menu, but it's all good here | 21:00 |
apolkosnik[m] | This is revB of A4000 mobo | 21:01 |

apolkosnik[m] | On AX the AHI signal levels seem way too low. | 23:15 |
