mnemotronhowdy11:08
mnemotroni tried using my a3000 without the 256 megs, but that was no fun with 2m chip and 4m fast, relocated kick and loaded modules :( back to the standard firmware with autoboot, fastram and random crashes11:09
_BnuIn general, it's very hard to make an Amiga with no CPU local 32-bit Fast perform very well, but it's hard to do anything about it with accelerators being so expensive. Maybe once shanshe gets some spare time to work out the fine details on the Z3660 you can switch to one of those for the CPU board.12:21
mnemotroni'd very much like the TF4060, but that's weeks or months off... and Matze on the A1K forum says he would release his 040/060 board "this month"12:24
mnemotronif the cpu itself wasn't so ex-pen-sive12:24
_BnuYeah, I dunno. Anything not open source doesn't interest me too much these days, haha.12:26
mnemotronboth are open-source, afaik12:28
mnemotronah, just read "the final pcb is on its way to me. won't be this month because i selected cheap postage"12:29
mnemotronthere are some pics in the thread. https://www.a1k.org/forum/index.php?threads/73349/12:29
_BnuTF can say his stuff is open source all he wants, but it really isn't.12:38
mnemotronit's not? i'm not into the specifics12:39
_BnuA for Matze's board, I have no idea.12:39
mnemotronmatze's repos look pretty open :) https://gitlab.com/users/MHeinrichs/projects12:39
_BnuYou can build your own TF boards, maybe, but you are at the mercy of TF as far as the firmware goes, no source code for it is available.12:39
mnemotronoh! that sucks :(12:41
mnemotrondidn't know that12:41
minuteweird to me that nobody is selling a big box accelerator that just works TM ?14:01
minutenaja i will not go down that hellish road :D14:01
_BnuSince it's Amiga, it's probably impossible to make one...14:16
_BnuIt'll randomly not work on some specific serial number range of A3000/A4000 because they have one capacitor on backwards and it only breaks your accelerator.14:16

minuteyeah14:22
mnemotronis there a big box graphics card that just works TM ? ;-)14:36
mnemotroni guess the devil is in the details. building the card seems to be "easy" compared to getting the chip firmwares to finally work on all configurations14:37
minutemnemotron: the card works for most people, yeah14:45
minutemnemotron: and yes, sometimes there is trouble14:45
mnemotroni was just being snippy ;)14:45
mnemotronthere are 643 members in the ZZ9000 facebook group, if you don't know14:46
mnemotronit's just a bit frustrating that there are these last 10% of the experience that are missing and i know it must be as frustrating (and time-consuming) for you as it is for the users14:49
_BnuFacebook always feels like an alternate reality to me.14:52
mnemotroni just think of it as a pimped FIDO or UseNet with people i mostly wouldn't let into my house ;)14:57
pasik_Bnu: i think some of the TF cards have open firmware on github15:51
pasiklooking at the repos.. tf1230 i guess at least15:52
pasiki think there was others aswell, at least earlier15:53
pasikwould be nice to have the firmware sources for the 060 editions of course, but oh well15:53
_BnuYou're not allowed to make any changes to it. Yes, you can see the code, but you're not allowed to do anything with it.15:58
_BnuAlso, IIRC that was the board he ragequit when Edu Arana's friend made that other 68030 board for the A1200.15:58
mnemotronkinda sad15:59
mnemotronwell, you can make changes, but you're not allowed to publish them again16:00
