cervHello, anobody here can help me with my ZZ9000? - works greatly except network... I have A4000 clean install 3.2. Using roadshow and no other cards in daughterboard. I simply cannot initiate it. I can see it on router when its trying to initiate. Allways ended with timed out...09:30

mntmncerv: did you try a reboot before trying to use it?10:32
mntmncerv: if that doesn't help, try switching to INT210:32
mntmn>  To do this, set the interrupt jumper on ZZ9000 to INT2 and create an empty file ENVARC:ZZ9K_INT2.10:33
cervI tryed all bunch of stuff including INT2 feature ... tryed some older firmware... cable is ok when i try plippbox its working10:49
cervit seems it didnt reccieve any packets back... (i am noob in this but i can see on router page it is communicating out) 10:51
cervTryed static ip too, different proccesor card... well dont know what to try next...10:54

isorianoGood morning.11:38
mntmncerv: do you get blinky lights on the ethernet interface on ZZ9000 when it receives/sends packets?12:05
cervhttps://photos.app.goo.gl/EoQjKwU14HNiHb4s9 one is on (right on photo) left is blicking freqvently12:50
mntmncerv: you wrote me in a query that you tried a second motherboard, it also doesn't work there?12:53
mntmncerv: we currently don't have a test/diagnostic to determine if ethernet hardware is working correctly or not12:54
cervsecond motherboard (A4000) doing same problem... I actually ordered bew ZZ9000 for myself few weeks ago13:04
cervfor amother computer13:05
cervanother13:05
mntmni see it is R-2 revision... was it fixed?13:07
mntmnthe voltage fix i mean13:07
cervyes I did it myself when this comes to public... meybe few weeks after13:09
mntmndid network ever work?13:11
cervit was working with some problems...  I actually asked here once and someone (you?) gave me some beta firmware with was working... I am unable to succesfully replicate it anomore13:17
_Bnumntmn: Figured out how to make an AHI prefsfile without having to destroy the universe.13:23
_Bnuvasmm68k_mot -quiet -phxass -Fhunk -m68020 -o PREFSFILE_NAME prefsfile.a -I$VBCC/NDK39/include/include_i13:24
_BnuAnd then you chop off everything before "FORM" in the file and it works.13:24
mntmn_Bnu: that... sounds useful!~13:25
_BnuI still haven't figured out how to make a working AHI driver, but I'm pooping around at it...13:29
mntmnthat's cool13:49
mntmnmaybe when you arrive there i will have the goddamn i2s formatting figured out13:50
_BnuI got it to open the library and do nothing with it and then crash...14:46
_BnuSo like 90% on the way there, right...14:46

* F8 -> Fate17:44
mntmncerv: you could try FW1.9 alpha version if you like. or you have to wait till the next version so you can use our standard test image for USB17:51
_BnuAHI isn't giving me the values it says it's giving me...17:57
mntmnmeanwhile i am still fighting with xilinx audio_formatter17:58
mntmni found the sources for it in the vivado folder labyrinth18:00
mntmnit... is horrible18:00
_BnuSounds a bit like the AHI developer sources...18:03
mntmnhere's a mask of the bits that the audio_formatter selects apparently (tested with ILA): 00f0ff0018:05
mntmni mean, the nybbles18:05
mntmnall the nybbles that are 0 here are ignored18:05
mntmnlooks like 24 bits to me...18:05
mntmnbut everything is set to 16 bit...18:05
mntmnyeah, it's treating the input as 24bit words inside of 32bit words, and the sequence is 1x32bit left, 1x32bit right...18:07
mntmnbut what i wanted it to do is 16bit left, 16bit right packed into a 32bit word.18:08
mntmn(16bit pcm)18:08
mntmnso, something goes very wrong when configuring these ip blocks18:08
_BnuAnything in the BSP that might need regenerating, if the SDK is being bad?18:09
mntmnnaughty sdk18:09
mntmngood Q18:09
mntmnalso i should check if i can somehow read out the config values18:10
_BnuJust came to mind since you had that problem with the VDMA settings not actually applying when building the firmware, haha.18:10
mntmnoh yeah. but now since i re-setup the sdk this stuff is always auto rebuilt18:15
mntmnand xparameters etc look correct18:15
_BnuF in chat for xparameters...18:16
mntmnwait, 00f0ff00 are only 12 active bits18:27
mntmnthat's even more bizarre18:27
mntmnendian-converted that's 00fff00018:27
mntmnok i can also see that the damn audio_formatter reads 32 bits from memory and then transmits that masked by 00ffffff to the axi stream... so it already forgets 8 bits18:29
mntmnmaybe their bit_per_sample config register is off by one or something18:36
mntmnif i configure to "8 bits" the mask of what it spits out changes to 000fffff18:39
mntmnlol18:39
mntmnlets try 32...18:41
_Bnu12-bit audio is fine...18:49
_Bnu0.5 channels.18:50
_BnuMlereo playback.18:50
mntmnmaybe i should throw the goddamm audio formatter away and replace it with something homebrew18:58
mntmnlulz18:59
mntmni think they OR into a register that already has a default value...18:59
_BnuBut it seems very good...18:59
mntmna default value of 20 bits (0x2)18:59
mntmnso if i set it to 16 they OR it and it will become 0x3 so that's 24 bits...19:00
mntmnarghrghrhg19:02
mntmnhow fucked up is that19:02
_BnuNo one ever used it, so they didn't notice...19:02
mntmnthat is indeed so19:03
mntmnoutrage19:03
mntmnok now it sends the first 16 bit and then the next 16 bit out19:06
mntmnstraight into the next cursed xilinx ip19:06
mntmnand that one is the i2s transmitter and it gives me only stuff in the like 4 LSBs now.19:11
_Bnulol19:12
_BnuDAC_NIBBLEWIDE19:12
mntmni have a hunch that the i2s tx wants to receive AES instead of PCM19:17
mntmnbecause that's the default output of the cursed audio formatter19:17
mntmnit's kind of a waste of bits but i'll try that again19:17
mntmnhunchentoot19:18
_Bnu('A`)19:21
mntmnok now it works19:38
mntmnso yes, it wants A E S19:38
mntmnalso apparently that audio formatter bug is fixed in vivado 2020 with this line... https://github.com/Xilinx/embeddedsw.github.io/blob/master/audio_formatter/src/xaudioformatter.c#L32519:39
mntmngrrrr19:39
mntmnmaybe need to upgrade at some point19:39
mntmnok so now just ADAU ignores LRCLK or it just mixes the channels and then outputs them >:|19:39
mntmni.e. no stereo separation19:39
mntmn(i'm still using the default dsp program)19:40
_BnuBuilding the Vivado project itself in 2020 isn't a problem, but the SDK is uhh...19:46
_BnuBut maybe you can figure out some way to actually build the firmware with it.19:46
_BnuXilinx Vitis, now with 50% less usability.19:47
mntmnyeah19:47
mntmnhaha19:47
mntmnok so adau does correct stereo separation19:47
mntmnsomething is wrong with my analog setup19:47
mntmneither in my amp circuit or my lexicon omega audio interface is fucking broken 19:48
mntmnif my audio interface is connected to usb (and nothing else), the whole I2S stuff on zz9000ax stops working19:49
mntmnlol19:49
_BnuMeanwhile I have no idea why every single compiler is ignoring my AHI driver function table...19:53
mntmneek19:54
mntmnhmm now with the other audio interface i have a terrible noise/ground loop problem or sth20:25
_BnuPiotr Bibbungoro is here...20:36
mntmnah the output filters have too high impedance i think20:37
cervSure I ll try 1.9 alpha... can you provide link?21:22
_Bnufatal error 13 in line 34 of "paula_audio.a": could not open <hardware\all.i> for input21:37

_BnuI still don't know WHY it needs the extra zero.23:15
_BnuIt never uses any of the data it points to, but it still can't figure out which entry is the function table without it.23:15
